That’s quite a tough run. Anything over 10 imo would be a good return there

12 points would be fantastic

13 points I reckon. Won't be far away, injuries permitting.

For some reason I feel like Chelsea are going to beat you but then you'll somehow go and beat City at the Etihad

15 points required if you want to win the league.

Spurs should be winning all the home matches. City 50/50. But I think Wolves could be the hardest.

I fancy us at home to Chelsea, West Ham and Newcastle for differing reasons - no doubt in my mind we’re better than all 3.

Villa at home, I don’t like that it’s the first game back after the international break - I think that will be a draw.

I agree about City away, complete write off, we will probably give them a scare though as we seem to always give them a game - 4-2 City.

Wolves away - out of all of them, I’m looking forward to this one the least. City is a free hit, whereas this one is winnable, but they are tough side to beat. Might get a draw.

10-11 points for me, I would be happy with that. We are capable of getting another 10 points in the 4 games after that which would leave us on 46/47 points from our first 20 games - we would probably be looking at 8 more wins to qualify for the CL whilst still having home games against Burnley, Luton, Forest, Brentford, Palace and away games at Sheff U, Everton, Fulham, Chelsea

Agree, I hate playing Wolves at Molineux, always a schitt game to watch and they are as tough as old boots.

We don’t beat them often at the Etihad, we beat them all the time at home though. Son is like kryptonite to them. However, one of these days they are going to utterly destroy us, proper 6/7 nil job - then we will beat them 1-0 in the next match

posted on 30/10/23

good mix of fixtures - will learn a lot about this side over the next few weeks, tests again low block sides and sides that will press. perhaps even might not have most of the ball against city so that will be interesting to see

Chelsea of course the one I will be gutted if we don't win. Other things I want to see are of course a continuation of the good performances, but also it would be nice if we can do someone by 3 or 4, which we haven't done since Burnley 2 months ago now. That was also the last time we scored in the opening 20 minutes, so for the sake of my peace of mind I'd also like to see us start getting some early goals again.

City on paper - the hardest game obvz but for whatever reason we do have a good record against them. Having said that I’m not expecting anything from that game.

We lost both our home fixtures against Newcastle and Villa last season and this will be a true measure of our progress. 6points from them games and I’m happy as a really happy person 👍

Just for the record Ace, why would you call a draw against City at WHL, when Spurs have won the last five against City with a worse side than they currently have?

No point in looking at the Villa game as it is yonks away.
Chelsea is winnable. It won't be easy, even though they have been losing, they start games well but cannot finish

Wolves without Neto us great for us. Another winnable game too. Let's keep it going.

Respect to Ange. Implemented a new system with new coaching staff, integrated new players with some old ones and united the fan base.

We need to take a moment to respect what he has done so far. It's unheard of. All of the Levy out stuff has gone, along with the toxic atmosphere from last season. All of the above with Kane as well 👏🏻.

Because we have previously had joy against City by low blocking them, forcing them wide and hitting them on the counter with Kane’s playmaking and Sons clinical finishing. That style with Kane and Son as the spearhead was kryptonite to them and for some mind boggling reason Pep never seemed to adjust his tactics and repeatedly got done by it.

Ange will not set up that way, it will be an open game with two teams trying to play expansive, possession based football and City are the proven masters at that. Beating them in previous seasons with a different style and different manager and virtually completely different team has no bearing on what will happen this season. Times change, things evolve, you have to apply objectivity.

Chelsea (H).... WIN, Coz they're crap
Wolves (A)..... WIN, We are decent on the road, their best player injured.
Villa (H)..... DRAW... They are a very good, well coached, well-balanced team with a squad good enough to cope with a European campaign.
City (A).... LOSS. They are the gold standard. Nothing else to say.
West Ham (H).... WIN. We tend to beat them at home, different story for their "cup final" at their dog track stadium.
Newcastle (H).... WIN. I don't think they have the squad to cope with CL and being competitive in the PL. Isak injury will hurt them. Not sure Wilson is good enough and losing Tonali will be a loss.

All tough games after Chelsea, do they coincide with any European or League Cup ties?

I think you'll continue in great form until at least January to be honest. The dynamic and high pace style is difficult to play against, especially for those playing twice a week.

Wouldn't be surprised if the City game was similar to the CL Q Final game at the Emtihad. It could be an absolute goal fest. Without Kane as well.

West Ham yes, kind of. We are their third game in 7 days factoring in a EL fixture. Newcastle play Milan 3 days after us. Villa no, the fixture comes after the international break.

Need Richarlison to do a Llorente and swing his chopper at one to get it over the line. Also need Micky VDV to have Haaland in his pocket; he matches him for size and is statistically faster.

The levy stuff is on hold - if Ange isn’t backed given the start we have had then it will flood back, I can promise that.

Wolves away is harder than Chelsea at home in my opinion. O’Neill has made them very hard to beat and they are superb at set pieces and a big physical side.

Neto missing is a huge plus for us though - does feel like we are getting the breaks at the moment

I expect Spurs to be very close to the top through the end of the year. One game a week is massive benefit, especially with some of the upcoming opposition (Villa, Newcastle and West Ham especially) all having European & LC commitments) ... While all being decent sides, they have the same issue we do, that their squad depth aint great when compared to the Likes of City, Liverpool & Arsenal
