What is British culture?

British culture is going on an all-inclusive 'holiday' to Majorca or Benidorm, making sure you put some towels out on the sub loungers and getting pi$$ed for the rest of the day in your England football top/topless beer belly hanging out.

The British culture you refer to, and the rest of the world sees, is usually really English culture. Not surprising really as England is by far the biggest country in the UK.

Going around the globe, conquering everyone and giving them a language to speak, silly.

This. Insulting foreign muck food after jetting off to Spain, to stay beside a pool, see no culture go to English bars and eat egg and chips. Wearing your clubs replica shirt everywhere and joggers.

No idea what I would call British Culture.

It is an affront to those who have died giving their life for the freedom we have today.

Bar the 2 minute silence, is there anything the average person does on Armistice Day? Aren't all the activities saved for Remembrance Sunday?

Maybe they want an armistice.

As long as they don't interrupt Rememberance Sunday, I'm with them.

Why though? Surely an anti war march is needed more than ever on armistice day? Especially as the Palestinians fought alongside the British in WW2.

As usual you ask a question and don’t like the answer.

The thing is I would not expect you to understand why it is an affront because that is who you are.

So as you are a film buff I recommend that you watch Gallipoli with a very young Mel Gibson.

I’ve seen it many times. But it’s more of an affront to ignore the genocide happening today to thousands of innocent children in case it upsets people who don’t like a sacred day about a war ending being mildly inconvenienced by people who want a war to stop.

Armistice day only means something if the people who respect it understand that war crimes being committed in the present day need stopping too.
