The sub committee couldn't agree a minimum number. But it would be hilarious if they said at least 1. It's ridiculous they couldn't even offer that

tbf its the usual SPFL idiots... why create a rule stating that there needs to be a reasonable amount of away fans allocated tickets but then not create a rule dictating what a reasonable amount is !

We have been told by the SPFL that the amount we are offering is reasonable.

Celtic said after a game in Ibrox their fans got hit by missiles. They don't want to accept the 800 allocation so have said their are safety concerns. It wouldn't take a genius to come up with a list of concerns for an old firm game and provide evidence where either sets of fans have done something in previous games.

If Celtic can't protect 800 then a number like a dozen should have at least been offered because it otherwise disputes the original concerns

Celtic obviously can't safety dance

yup I kinda knew that was the reason, but not actually confirmed.

Since that complaint we have installed nets to protect the away fans in that corner to stop this from happening. thats why the they wont confirm it as the reason , thats why they are not emphasising its the "safety" issue any more.

we covered the corner making it safe and then suddenly the narrative became its not enough we want more.

the 800 fans in that corner covered by the nets is far safer than having 8000 fans not covered by nets ......

its all bull$hit. Celtic are refusing to agree with our demands that are perfectly legitimate, they adhere to the rules, been approved by the SPFL.

Celtic dont want to be seen as "agreeing" with us after we initially took the huff. Both teams are acting like weans... us initially and now celtic are doing so currently.

We are trying to resolve it now.

Have Rangers simply tried apologizing for their initial vvankery?
That might work wonders.

As I said, there are a number of reasons you could say and evidence it. Rightly or not. A real flex of strength would have been increasing the allocation to show the club was back. Celtic will be feeling like their pants have been pulled down because of this and are now demonstrating they have the power to now allow no away fans at Parkhead.

posted on 28/12/23

There's nothing better than beating Celtic at Ibrox with 8000 of their fans there and I'm sure it's the same for them.

The same way you apologise to the misses for something. It keeps the peace and means you get to plough them

I don't want us to let them pump them. Just the opportunity to.

If Rangers refuse to offer Celtic an allocation for Ibrox for the next old firm, I won't be happy with the club at all

If they offer the same 800, I'll understand it

Would be delighted if they offer more

About time one of them put Thier big girls pants on and brought an end to this $hite....hence why I'm giving Celtic pelters on this occasion for being petty bastirts

I'm not buying this security concerns $hite for one second...it's t!t for tat bull$hit and it needs to stop

Rangers fans also faced the same at parkhead. It doesn't make it OK though. Perhaps the police should actually police the fans.

Throwing stuff, flares, offensive singing can be found at every old firm game. It would be better if both clubs agreed that safety in numbers actually protects the fans.

Nets installed to prevent broken glass being thrown into the 18 yard area?

Has Rangers' position from the start changed? All seem to agree they were d!cks to start this. Think you will find their position is still the same, ergo still d!cks.

I've made my position clear from the start, both clubs behaving like school kids. If I remember correctly, Celtic asked Rangers in the close season for an increased allocation and Rangers rejected it.

Now we have the situation that if one club relents, the Neanderthals in their support will go ape sh!t. Think it was Ginger who said, they need to sit down and talk behind closed doors, resolve this.

Then make a joint statement.

Fat chance, probably, but ridiculous that adults in their position are behaving like this

think this just proves that Celtic fans are p00fy wee $hitebags.

"we dont feel safe"

The reality is we are the only club in the country that has went out their way to alleviate Celtics "safety concerns".

there is a reason they aint peddling the safety issue anymore.

then dont go to any away game as this is the kind of thing that has been seen at all grounds in the top flight.

yes we changed our position to offer you seats in the corner just like every other team in the country gets and installed nets that will catch objects thrown ... iv never seen anyone smash a bottle or glass first then throw it.

your changing your argument its not about the pitch its about the fans hence why the argument is about how many fans????!!!!

also how is it safer to have 8000 fans with no nets and well within throwing distance than to have 800 fans covered by nets and also within throwing distance??

end of the day we are offering what you are entitled to, the rules are there, the SPFL have confirmed we are being reasonable in our allocation and celtic are not.
