If the OP sets the argument for elite at the level that RVP or Sanchez, then I'd use that reasoning like everyone else on this thread has.

In the 6 seasons that Aubameyang had played, which we are referencing. He had scored the following:

17/18 - 23 league goals
18/19 - 22 league goals
19/20 - 22 league goals
20/21 - 10 league goals
21/22 - 15 league goals
22/23 - 1 league goal

I was asked to give EPL stats cos when we compared them to Haaland as per the original claim of them not being much difference when I gave his career stats in comparison people were not happy cos once again it proved my point.

So Mr Werner thought Aub was elite and pretty much the same as Haaland.... who else agrees with him?

My view on elite player is a player that is gamechanger and player that stands out of others. At Arsenal, last player that was elite was Alexis. When you watched the game you knew he was the main man in that team. Auba doesn't have that effect. His stats are great, but he wasn't at that level for me

Auba was definitely the main man from when he signed up to that final. Think what happened after has clouded the opinion.

Yes he did, nobody said he didn't have moments of greatness, but overall I think he is great player but not an elite

So, came in and scored 10 in 13, then back to back 20+ league seasons, plus game changing moments in big games, stood out massively as our best player... not sure how RvP - who had one big season - was elite at Arsenal but Auba wasn't by your own definitions.

There you go, like Premier League knew what to post. Football isn't just about stats. After you watch this, if you think Auba is on RvP level, you don't know football.

And RVP's stats would be much greater if he didn't have injury problems. Whenever he was fit, he was elite.

No, football is about match winning performances in big games like cup finals...
RvP averaged under 10 league goals a season in 7 seasons before his one outstanding season for us - his scoring record didn't even match up to Adebayor, Giroud etc.

Havertz is well on course to beat the majority of RvPs seasons at Arsenal as well. His output at Chelsea was about the same as an average RvP season at Arsenal as well.

I think if your talking about elite strikers just now he is in the conversation. him Kane and Haaland.

To me they are the the three in the conversation for elite strikers. Arguments can be made for all three.

He scored 26 league goals last season ... my comments were based on the season we had when I made those comments.

and last year he was in the conversation for elite players IMO, you dont agree?

prior to last season I wouldnt have considered elite think he finihsed 4th in the goden boot behind Kane, Mbappe and Haaland.

So yeah I do believe being in the top 3 strikers in the world can put you in the conversation of being elite.

so last season he was in the conversation for being considered elite yes and thats what I was basing my opinion on cos it was made on a thread talking about possible transfers in I assume?

if those comments were made on a thread discussing players whole careers and then my opinion would be different.
