Wouldn't miss it if it was scrapped. I don't think it has added anything to the game but more controversy.
I've said ot before and I'll say it again: the technology is fine. It's the idiots using it that is the problem.
take it away and people will just moan about decision that would have been given with VAR.
we were told it take years to perfect and iron out bugs and problems to get it to where it needs to be.
there is no way back.
its created more controversy cos the old line "i didnt see it" cannot be used anymore you could overlook and get by with no explanations in the past prior to VAR.
Post VAR things are scrutinised much much more during a game than before.
Why are offsides not automated like they are in major tournaments and in Europe? It is meant to be the PL, the richest league in the world and can't even implement some N64 video game tech to instantly solve the offside problem.
Hasn't cleared up errors and all it's done is take the joy out of scoring goals.
I'm all for goal line tech coming in and the automated offside stuff too. Anything that's left up to a human being scrap it. Let the ref make the call.

Dont even celebrate goals anymore because almost any goal they can find a reason to disallow it

Yeah imagine going back to when the ref doesn't see something but literally the whole world can see on replays on TV, the whole stadium can see on the big screen but the ref just isn't allowed to look. Imagine that being a better solution.

there is plenty of debateable decisions that have been cleared up.... offsides are a pretty clear indication of this.
As with most things in society now, people see it in black and white. It isn't a case of SCRAP VAR vs keep VAR exactly how it is. Also people's tendency to focus on the negatives in the current situation with a bias that an alternative would be better, seeing only the positives in the alternative.
A lot of the negatives associated with having no VAR at all far outweigh the negatives of having some form of VAR.
Turn off your black and white brains for a moment and think of actual solutions to the particular negatives that you see. Don't just go all Brexit on it. You are better than this.
Let AI control all the officiating and fek those parasites at Stockley Park off along with the onfield nonces
"VAR appears to cause more problems than it solves."
Tell us what the problems are that it causes. Then tell us the problems that it does solve.
Maintain the aspects that it is doing a good job at.
Then let's have a discussion about how to solve the problems that you perceive it to be causing.
Don't just be an IDIOT and propose scrapping the whole thing just because you are incapable of thinking properly.
I think what should be a fairly simple solution is to train separate VAR refs whose entire job is to do VAR and nothing else.
We've already had some refs say they don't want to send their mates to the screen because it might give them abuse or make them look bad, and a lot of the VAR audio often seems like they're trying to justify the ref's decision.
Frank, just give your opinion without the personal insults please. When a poster resorts to insults it undermines the value of their opinion so your opinion value rating is currently zero!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The main problem is the time stoppage.
Second problem is you can't always celebrate a goal.
Both of those affect match going fans, not couch potatoes like me.
The problem as I see it is that the VAR officials appear to be looking for reasons to diss allow the goal.
VAR should be for offsides and handball only. And the laws for those offences need to be re written so that it is clearly defined.
Fouls and penalties should be onfield referee and linesman decisions only.
Before VAR people were crying out for refs to receive some help. They are just one guy on like £60k a year in charge of the biggest matches in the biggest sport in the world, the outcome worth billions of pounds and you think they shouldn't receive any help at all? Just one pair of eyes from likely a limited viewpoint? No help at all if they can't see something properly?
Headbutt in the face off the ball, officials don't see it, no red card. Shown up on the big screen, the guy is lying unconscious. Nothing the ref can do because of the solution YOU are posing. Take a long hard look at yourselves. You are being RIDICULOUS.

Clear and obvious things take no time at all to clear up. It's the nonsense handballs and slow motion replays over and over that cause the time delays. By definition that means it is not clear and obvious. It is ridiculous that you should propose ignoring a guy getting his leg broken in half, on purpose, cos the ref didn't see it, just because other decisions sometimes take long to review.
