So am I because if City and Arsenal don't do well then we could both be screwed for CL next year.

The Spurs Liverpool feud is being replaced by the Spurs United feud it seems

We were 14 points behind 3rd and finished 4 points ahead of the team that was previously 3rd 14 games later so lots of points still to play for.

I hate United. Absolute stinker of a club. All that money. All those mercenaries and they end up playing counter attacking football. Joke of a club. I really hope they choke and it’s still us and Villa fighting it out.

So you're saying that you hate a football team because the players are well paid but are not quite good enough to play a more progressive style?

Are you sure all that energy couldn't be reserved for something genuinely unpleasant?

No idea why Spurs fans hate United so much. Just think where Arsenal would be without Fergie and us? You should be grateful. 😂

I actually quite like Spurs as a club. Never seen them as rival or anything like it.

Dippers
City
Leeds
Arsenal

Chelsea and Spurs don't even register for me really. Just two good PL teams who we often compete with.

Long way to go but I heard there is a 77% chance that 5th place will qualify for the CL, (don`t ask me how they worked that out).

We have some tough away trips to come at Klanfield, the Dog Track stadium to play in their cup final, St James Park, Villa park and Stamford Bog.

As well as home games v City and Woolwich, there will likely be plenty of dropped points among that lot. Hopefully our luck turns and we end up with more than the 1 penalty kick we have been given so far, which could make a difference in some big games.

Tottenham and United are not enemies, never have been and never will be. Generally both play good football, historic sides and have between them have had some of the games greats.

Spurs don’t have to worry about United this season - we just have to take care of our own business, if we win our home games against Wolves, Palace, Forest, Luton, Arsenal and Burnley and pick up a couple of away wins - West Ham, Sheff U, Fulham then United would need 11 wins from 14 and they are not doing that, they have some tough fixtures left.

In terms of 5th being good enough for a CL position - England are absolutely nailed on. City will make the CL semis at least, Liverpool should make the Europa semis at least and Villa should make the Conference semis at least. If Arsenal, Brighton and West Ham add a couple more wins to that then we more or less cannot be caught.

There's a lot more love in our club than yours mate. Yours looks toxic. It won't be long before the wheels come off again and those same mercenaries will be standing around saying "not me" when the blame game kicks in. You haven't got any leaders. It's painfully obvious and no scraping of results is gonna change that. You were largely outplayed by West Ham at Old Trafford and 3-0 wasn't a fair reflection of the game. You were seriously fortunate to win 4-3 at Wolves and on another day Villa would have been out of sight today. Mark my words, you won't achieve anything with this passive football. It's scandalous to even consider playing that way with the money you've spent. Shiiiiithouse club.

We just need the injury levels to be average rather than the massive statistical outlier they were in November. With no more international games and an average injury list we should be able to capitalise.

We’ve got goals all over this side, every time one has a poor game another attacker finds a goal in them - it’s very enjoyable.

I’ve not watched a lot of United but did watch the game today and I think it’s fair to say Villa were the better team. United though have better individuals that can get them out of bother - Onana was very good today despite being ridiculed most weeks. Mc Tominay has scored a couple of other late winners this season as well I believe.

I don’t trust United enough though to bet on them, Luton away next weekend is the exact sort of game I could see them conceding a late equaliser in.

I knew the moment they were knocked out of europe they’d be a threat. The amount of games and injuries have definitely affected them but they’re getting them back with one game a week for the rest of the year. I wanted Villa to win today because United scare me more than Villa, who I knew might drop away.

They’re a side with top individuals that get them out of trouble but I still struggle to see a team. There’s no doubt that having a settled side has helped but leaving out the expensive flops like Antony and putting faith in Garnarcho and Mainoo has seen a major turnaround. You have to remember that they were abject for months and are still only 7 points behind. I wouldn’t bet against them taking that 4th spot ahead of us and Villa.

I think you are diminishing us somewhat - the reason United are only 6 points behind us is because we’ve not been able to play anything remotely resembling a full strength side since half way through the Chelsea. Even on Saturday we still had Son and Biss on the bench, Bentancur is still rusty and Sarr isn’t quite 100%.

We’re hitting what is on paper a very good run of games with what is likely to be a more or less full strength squad - we need to go on a run now.

One other thing about Uniteds momentum - 5 weeks ago they were 5 points behind us and now they’re 6 points behind us. They have had an upturn in form but we’ve won 6, drawn 2 and lost 1 of our last 9 - our form had been tremendous

posted on 11/2/24

I think it’s a combination of factors. I don’t think our drop in form is entirely down to a lack of personnel. I’m the first 12 games we were an unknown quantity but as the season has gone on, opposition teams are doing their homework more. We’re no longer able to play out from the back with ease because opposing players are very aware of it and will hunt us down much quicker. Balls over the top, particularly out wide are more frequent to exploit the space left by our full backs. There’s so many subtle differences. Also, our run isn’t so easy. Our away games look bloody tough whereas aside from City, United’s run of games look very winnable on paper. The fact they’ve now got a settled with fewer injuries will also make a difference, as will ours, granted, but I think it’s going to be bloody close.

One thing is for sure, I’m supporting Arsenal in Europe. That 5th place might end up being our saviour.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I won’t be supporting Arsenal in Europe - it is unnecessary as long as City, Liverpool and Villa go deep in their comps there won’t be any issues. Brighton, West Ham and Arsenal are the back up sides.

As for us, we have 7 home games and 7 away - if we can find 8 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses then United are going to need to win 11 from 14 to catch us - I will take a bet with anyone that United won’t win 11 from 14, in fact I think they might win 9, 2 or 3 draws and 2 or 3 losses - which would be by far their best run of the season.

Where would our 8 wins come from:

Home games are: Wolves, Palace, Forest, Luton, Burnley, Arsenal, City

Away games: Villa, Fulham, Sheff U, West Ham, Newcastle, Chelsea, Liverpool

My point is, it doesn’t matter what United do as long as we do our job. We are certainly capable of getting the job done with those remaining fixtures. We’re in great form, we’ve got a near full strength squad again, we added well in January and the whole buzz around the club is positive.

We massively owe them, we’ve lost 3 on the spin to them and we’ve been utterly robbed on 2 of those occasions. They are in full on wobble mode at the moment - unfortunately their 3 games before they play us are Fulham, Forest and Luton so they will have probably recovered.
