I’ve seen an article saying West Ham want GON in the summer.
Wouldn’t think he would be interested, would he.

He was a Millwall fan as a kid, so you'd like to think not. He did play for West Ham though.

Ffp seems targeted at clubs like ourselves and Newcastle, Everton, Forest and Villa, ie clubs with wealthy owners trying to break in to the established top 6 or avoid relegation. None of them except Everton are risking bankruptcy by doing so. If Newcastle have the ability to spend £1 billion plus without risking their clubs future then why shouldn't they ? If Forest can do the same to avoid the typical yo-yo of newly promoted clubs again, why shouldn't they ?
Looks to me that the real reason is for the big 6 to protect their positions . Can't have any upstarts pushing them away from their inherited trough.

Yeah I agree. It's to protect the clubs who were lucky enough to be at the top at a specific moment in time.

I'd happily get rid of it or see it changed to allow owner cash injections. It should be enforced properly for the seasons it has been in place in its current form though. Otherwise you are just punishing the clubs that try to meet it.

Did read one story speculating that Leicester might sue Everton who stayed up after breaking the rules while Leicester did stick to the rules, went down, and lost a fortune in income as a consequence

Everton stayed up by getting 2 points more than Leicester. The 6 points deduction that Everton received should really have applied last season not this

FFP protects all the “top” clubs all over Europe
Small chance it will ever change.

West Ham beat Brentford tonight thanks to a Bowen hat trick and that puts them above Wolves who are relegated to a lowly 9th place. Big match on Saturday in terms of league position as we visit Newcastle who are one point below us in 10th

posted on 26/2/24

8th place was nice while it lasted.

If we'd dealt with Brentford at home the way West Ham did tonight we'd be 7th, still p!ssed off about that.

It ought to be the league that they sue, its their scandalous handling of all this that has allowed Everton to shat all over the rule book and get away with it whilst Leicester complied and got relegated. I know they're had to be due process and all that but just introducing the P&S rules without any clarity on how they will be applied or what the sanctions for breach would be is amateurish. None of it should be open to interpretation.

Same with City, how many more trophies will they be allowed to gather before we all find out they're cheating?

Maybe I missed it but was there a several year run up to the rules being introduced? In like 2020 did they say that by 2024 finances need to be in order or did they just randomly decide a year or two ago?

Having won their group in the 2023–24 Premier League International Cup, the U21's lost 0-3 to Crystal Palace in the quarter finals today.

Yeah, think I read something about that. Pretty sure they gave Man City twice as long as the other clubs, as obviously they have two sets of accounts. 🥷🏾

Spurs fans on here think Pedro Neto is some unproven player that's only done it for 6 months and question whether he is good enough for them.

It's quite incredible what a huge percentage, of a small cross section of one club's fanbase, are absolute, complete and utter bellends as their "members" on this forum.

They completely dominate the of the year nominations year in, year out, just by being themselves.

Remarkable.

On separate threads over the last week or so many are adamant both Kilman and Hwang are 40-50 million quid players

posted on 27/2/24

I rate Kilman highly. No surprise if he got a call up to the English squad.

As for Hwang, because of his goals, I reckon he will be worth more this summer than he will ever be

Completely agree regarding Hwang. The question over there was what price would we accept. To me if anything over 20 million came in for Hwang it should be taken as he is without doubt a limited player and one that should be on the bench if we ever fixed our forward issue.

Kilman i could see 30+ million but certainly not 50

£50mk? There are far too many well respected posters, whose jury is still out on Hwang, for him to ever achieve that kind of fee.

posted on 27/2/24

Kilman could easily be worth £40 million+. He's a home-grown Premier League centre back who is a clun captain and hasn't reached his peak yet.

Ruben Neves saying that after he had made up his mind the time had come to move on from Wolves he had detailed talks with two clubs. He was very keen to go to Barcelona but they were unable to come up with a financial package to satisfy Wolves. And Arsenal were also very interested but ultimately decided to sign Declan Rice instead. So instead of sitting around to see what else emerged he decided to take the deal on offer in Saudi, and he says he’s happy he did. But he still has a strong affiliation with Wolves and always follows their games and Porto’s. He says he is looking forward to having a space in his diary to come back and watch a game at Molineux
