Think missing this one will turn out to be a good idea.

Playing well but one down already.

right about now is when you start to think keeping Jimenez would have been a smart move.

Sounds like Kilman and Sa have done a Needham-Shilton. 2-0

Not coming back today are we. Just don't have the goals in this side

Main difference between the teams is how they handle the press. Our defence move the ball so slowly and repeatedly allow Newcastle to press us. Forwards are showing for the ball or making a run from outside to in, but no one is playing that pass into them. Kilman, Dawson and Toti all want to put their foot on the ball and play the safe lateral pass.

Conversely, the Newcastle defenders move the ball between then with intent, trying to create an angle to play the ball forwards to break the press. That's the reason they are able to create the breaks they have had, whilst we can't get anything going.

We've had the same problem the last two games. It was going to catch up with us eventually. We can't keep playing poor slow tempo football when in possession and not eventually get stung for it.

Bentley coming on, Sa injured?

Neto also off, uphill struggle. Fraser on.

Be happy now if we kept it to 2.

That’s what I have been thinking for sometime.
It’s finally caught up with us again.
Need to keep the goal average down.

Well that was rubbish.

Not sure it was rubbish, just a game too far for us. No Cunha, Hwang, Gomes and half a game for Neto. A creditable second half, but anything for us this afternoon looked unlikely after their first goal.

Doyle probably our best player, Semedo and Sarabia OK too.

We conceded 3 and could play for another 90 minutes and not look like scoring. Qualifies as rubbish in my opinion.

Their keeper was in fine form and probably prevented one or two for us but, yes, well beaten. Onwards and, hopefully, upwards.

I also think Newcastle got quite a bit of luck with all three of their goals. Disappointing all round really. One to forget about and hope we have players back for Fulham.

Just too many key players out now. Let’s hope some are able to come back soon otherwise the good work could quickly become undone. If we go into coming games without Neto, Cunha, Gomes, Hwang and Sa then you have to fear the worst because we just don’t have the squad to cope with that. Particularly in attack. But not confident in Bentley in goal either.

Be surprised if Neto, Gomes and Sa aren't fit for Fulham.

Not looking likely Jimenez will face us next week, but I see Adama came off the bench to get Fulham's 3rd.

But you now agree FFP stopped us signing a striker in January?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’ve already said I don’t.

You seem to be under the impression that we spent time negotiating a transfer, agreed terms with the club and the player and only pulled out because of demands by the agent at the end of January and we did all that despite knowing ffp would prevent us from signing him. I suspect not
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Just to return to this. I don't think we spent time negotiating a transfer for January. We spent time negotiating a loan, with an option/obligation to buy that would have fell in the next reporting period (like they did with Cunha last season).

We could take on a loan as we were ok to pay wages, but not bigger fees. This is what GON said. This is what was reported in the press. This is what the club have said. This is the reason we pulled out of the Broja loan. It is also the reason we pulled out of the Yuri Alberto loan. The fees they were asking for to take the loan were pushing us too close to the FFP limit. The Athletic have reported we only had £5 million to play with in that window.

You also keep saying that Neves is included in last seasons figures. The club don't seem to think so as he isn't listed in the outgoing transfers. They have also listed the accounting period as ending in May 2023. Neves was sold in June 2023. So it looks like he is in this years.

So there are really three possibilities here. 1) You know something the club, GON and the press don't. 2) The club and GON are lying. 3) You're just wrong and refuse to admit it.

My money is on number 3.

I don’t know why this is so important to you, apart from your keenness to score points and argue. So I’ll try a final reply.

It was widely reported at the time that everything was agreed, fee and salary, for us to bring in Alberto from Corinthians, (not Flamengo that was Gomes). But after all was agreed the agent asked for £790,000 additional payment without reference to Corinthians or the player, and Wolves pulled out, not through cost but in principle. To say it pushed us close to the ffp limit is a meaningless comment that just shows how little you understand the issue. The transaction is in the current financial year which won’t get assessed until next January so it doesn’t matter how much we spent in January as long as in the three years ending summer 2024 the loss the club makes is less than the sustainability limit then it’s not a problem.

With the Neves situation maybe it is the case that I am wrong although I have read many reports that concluded the same as me. It is usual and traditional for the annual accounts of clubs to be produced to the end of June. Wolves have opted to produce accounts to the end of May. If the authorities are happy to accept measuring ffp against that then the Neves sale would be in the current financial year.
If that’s the case I am more than happy to admit I was wrong on that and accept that this point emphasises even more my point about us having little to worry about with ffp going forward.

I’m sure you will now admit to being wrong on a number of these points
