I’m still curious about his team selection for the cup match v Fulham. Think it was his 2nd game in charge

He made 9 wholesale changes and played the squad players essentially.
Now was it to put them in the shop window so levy could ship a few out?
Did he play them to genuinely see how they fared?
Or was it a message to Levy pointing out that the B team just wasn’t good enough?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Still learning about the squad, needed to play them to get a good look at them
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He absolutely did not need to play them. He completely f*cked that up, and I don’t get why it’s controversial to say that.

I think you'd be hard pushed to find a Spurs fan who is not happy with our direction and not "along for the ride".

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You'd be surprised!

I not going to mention any names, but Hengy gave a hint of one in his reply.

There are some on here where it's top 4 or nothing.

Well Newcastle and Man U achieved top 4 last season. Look at them now. You've got to build on solid foundations.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Except I’ve not said once that I want him out, I’ve said the team has to do better, especially after that hit and miss period post Chelsea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You may not have said you want him out but after the Brighton loss you were pining for Poch. Showed your true colours lol.

Mate it’s Poch who’s living rent free in your head not mine.

But as you brought it up, come back to me when the club comes close to those highs again. (If we ever do)

It's as if Sizz and Mack are the only ones who want trophies and rest of us are happy without one. We should bow to their superior POV lol.

All because they cry the loudest and act like impatient spoil brats.

Ange is on a free pass this season.

Levy is Levy.

Because 16 years really isn’t that long of a wait.

The season after Poch, we won f all. The season after we won f all. The season after f all.

Jose, Nuno and Conte all won f all. Same as your boy Poch, so results wise we are in the same boat.

Facts and results don't care about your feelings 🙂

For the record, I don’t doubt Ange at all. He’s won trophies everywhere he’s been and, like almost all of the managers and players that have left us before, he will win more wherever he goes next.

Ange isn’t the problem mate 👍

Most do mate. Just a few posters on here that are happy with no trophies. Satisfied with financial gain even though none of it has transferred to the pitch.

I was priced out of spurs last season, my dad will be now levy us getting rid of senior concessions. One d 1ck head on here actually said they were GLAD about that. So I give absolutely no credence to anything that a crettin like that would say.

The club can’t have it both ways. If they want to treat us like customers, we have a right to demand a first class product.

1 trophy in 16 years is nothing but utter failure from Enic to the fans. Anyone who dresses it differently has been totally conned by them.

Soon we will be signing first testers that weren’t born the last time spurs won anything.

If you’re happy with that, then good on you.

The recent announcement to get rid of senior concussions (my father will now have to stop going) proves that levy only values money.

You’re a fool if you think otherwise
----------------------------------------------------------------------

NO ONE is saying 16 years with no cup isnt failure

But there is a difference between being angry at the past and being critical of the new manager for not winning a cup in year 1...when you sit down and see what a MASSIVE change he has made to the club and how promising that all looks you have to think that he could not have achieved much more.

This time next season, with a stronger squad, well drilled in the way of the Ange, you would expect Ange and the team to do better in all comps, and be in a better position to be able to rotate the team carefully to see us advance in cup comps.

But our only real failure this season was to go out to Fulham, away, on Pens.

If you read what some have said on other threads, then no one is taking for granted that we will get 3 points at Fulham this weekend. They are a decent mid table team, and Spurs were in their infancy under Ange. If we drew them next season, no doubt the squad and the line up will be much stronger and you could be critical if we failed to get through or played too many kids.

You can be critical of Ange for making a lot of changes but it was early days, he was learning about the squad and he will have learned a lesson that day about who he could trust.

Ange has had a very good season, but we must remember that ETH won the League cup, made the FA cup final and finished 3rd in his first season and look at them now.

I don’t doubt Ange, but I’m not ready to sign off on him being a total success yet either. He needs more time and the flip side of that is we get more time to assess him.

The one that I am very impressed with is Paratici, I’m actually looking forward to the summer window as he just keeps hitting gold for us. With the lure of CL football (hopefully) and at the very worst Euro football (I feel definitely) we should be able to attract a couple more bright young talents

Ffs mate READ MY COMMENTS. Nowhere ever have I ever been critical of Ange. Stop making things up.

I literally just posted how I don’t doubt Ange. Two posts ago.

Ange isn’t the problem. Nor was rednapp. Nor was Jol, Nor was Poch. Etc etc

The problem is levy and Enic going to the next level. I don’t think they actually have the ambition to do so. That’s my point. You can disregard history if you like, but it’s there in allll the fact books. Spurs have won 1 trophy in 24 years. 1.

Make all the excuses you like, but this club is now a business charging premium prices. Customers have a right to question the quality of the product they buy. Coming fourth and winning nothing is no better than what conte did. Or Poch. Or rednapp.

Let’s see if Enic get distracted counting all that champions league money again and another 16 years goes by.

I think my question in the OP has been answered. There are still some doubters and I personally find that incredible.

I can tell you that I sat in the stands for the previous 3/4 seasons and I was so close to giving up my season ticket. The football that we played was utter garbage and we were making bang average teams look like prime Barcelona at our own ground.

The prospect of winning anything was as distant as ever and I was convinced that we would be struggling in the bottom half of the PL this season without Kane.

Fast forward to the summer of 2023 and the appointment of Ange. The transformation of the team in such a short space of time was almost miraculous - particularly without Kane and broadly the same players from previous seasons.

We have made very good signings under Ange (I can't think of any duds) and we are on an upward trajectory. No one (I repeat no one) was expecting a top 4 finish before the season started and the fact that we're in the mix is a credit to the manager. Those that continue to moan about lack of trophies (which pre dates Ange) and demanding we finish in the top 4 not only have short memories (re the recent past) but are acting like spoilt brats IMO.

posted on 12/3/24

That’s fine.

At least we’re not acting like apologists for failure and constantly making excuses.

posted on 12/3/24

We’ve had no European football and a frankly laughable attempt at the domestic cups, so finishing as high as we can in the league has been our ONLY goal.

posted on 12/3/24

And seriously if you are going to come for me, at least get your f*cking facts right.

Yeah, the sort of guy who thinks that losing to the treble winning, best team in the world when we're missing Maddison, Son, Bissouma & Sarr is "laughable" and just unacceptable failure. The worst kind of fan.

But that's just it. When you go to the ground, you are a customer. This isn't a service industry, it's the entertainment industry. Yes, any cost increase is annoying and devastating if a loyal supporter can no longer attend games but an inflationary ticket increase was no great surprise in the current climate. You have been paying attention to what's going on out there haven't you? The club isn't immune from those cost pressures either. Eventually ticket prices will have to go up. It's the sad reality of life. It's not a straight 6% on to anyone's profits.

The link to this and trophy success are different things.

Priced out last season??? Ticket prices haven't changed since 2020/21 and even then it was a 1.5% increase (that's about £15 for the average ST), so i am not buying this from you at all.

For me life's about choices and priorities and some just expect to be able to do everything they want.

Recent inflation has meant thing like going to the pub, going out for a meal, taking a flight somewhere or booking any kind of holiday has got a lot more expensive. I don't know what job you do but no doubt your pay has gone up and more is being charged for your services.

I do not know why fans think Spurs or football should be immune from such pressures and should act as a charity to their loyal supporters. I am a loyal customer at my local pub, but they raised the price of beer and i still pay as much as some random one time customer.

I do consider the concession change to be unnecessary, although it is a gradual thing, reduced from 50% to 25% over 5 years (5% a season), so realistically their STs are going up by another £50 a year, or £2.50 per game. A poor choice for me as although its not a massive additional cost per game, it wont raise much money either, so politically probably unwise.

It will probably reflect the demographic of the club and they can probably predict based on the age of current STH that in 5 years time, there will be a lot more concessions and revenues will be falling, despite sell outs. If it had been offset with a reduction or freeze on youth tickets and season tickets then it would have been more palatable and building our fans base of the future.

So ticket prices AREN’T going up by 6%?

Honestly, who to believe?
