Not just any old white people. It’s white, conservative men that are the real victims in all of this.

What i think is irresponsible in this whole things is the use of the phrase 'the club are Institutionally racist'.

This more than implies that Man United are systemically racist as an organisation, that such attitudes are prevelent in everything thing they do, the decisions they make, the actions they take, their policies and practices.

How such a conclusion can be drawn from the drawing up of this task force is to stretch this complaint beyond reasonable limits.

It is as is the Charity do not properly understand the meaning of the phrase and toss it around casually in response to what they view as racial discrimination. It thus comes across as headline grabbing and I am not surprised that some people view this statement cynically and others are triggered by it. It isn't helpful and in my opinion undermines the cause.

Some political racist have definitely lost sight of what racism actually is, to the extent that they are not even aware often when they are being overtly racist (as the Overton Window continues to transcend towards the Right). That is an extremely poor summary of the discussion.


1. You seem to think that comment likes this remain isolated and therefore insignificant and as if this discourse has had and will have no impact on society whatsoever other than further diminishing racism from our society
2. I don’t think anyone here has claimed that white people are the main victims of discrimination, unless I’ve missed a post or two which I may have. If not you’ve built a subpar straw man right there.

How many times have you seen, heard or read a statement that if the word white were to be swapped with the word black there would be a national outrage but because it is aimed against the dominant race in this country, good old evil whitey, it’s seen as absolutely acceptable such as

‘Too many white peoples’

‘Terribly white’

‘Not for white people’

‘Black only space or event’

Then when someone points out ‘hey that’s actually not ok either’ we get opinions like

‘Oh it’s only one person it’s not a big deal’

‘Victim’

‘Oh so you now think you have it worse than ethnic minorities?’
