Hi Culer
Mbappe was better than Owen imo. Not that owen wasn't brilliant in his prime, but his pace made him the striker that he was.
He was never quite the same after his injuries robbed him of his pace, even though he did win the league at Utd.
Owen never should have got that Prem medal. He played about 200 minutes.

but I bet most people wouldn't even think to mention him or put him in their top 10

Well, yeah. Off the top of my head he'd be top 20 at best.
Tbf he’s ranked 11th in all time Prem scorers

See I would say you're wrong on this.
There were at least 3 years at Liverpool when he'd lost a yard of pace, yet he'd bag 20+ goals a season.
Mbappe would be poor if he lost a yard of pace in the same way Owen did.

Also when he came onto the scene, 1997, strikers like him would get lumps kicked out of them for years yet he still smashed them in each week.

Henry was elite from 2001-2005 which is less time than Owen was.
I'd say Owen was elite from 1998-2003 which is longer than Henry's peak.
Owen before he tore his hamstring was at a level above Rooney, Fowler and even Mbappe. He was unstoppable but never recovered from that injury. After that he became a typical number 9 but he did lose his explosiveness.
Okay. Absolutely no-one will agree with you anywhere bar Michael (who is very pleased with himself) and Michaels Dad, who is equally pleased with him.

Not sure the likes of Henry, Aguero and Mbappe would have done the same if they were all visibly a yard or two slower.

I don't know how anyone can make the argument Owen is top 5 strikers premier league history. Owen for me is not even above Robin Van Persie, who is not top 5 himself.

He was miles better than RVP.
Apart from 2 years in his career, last one at Arsenal and then first year with us, RVP was just a crash test dummy.
Don't think he is, brilliant talent that had a great start to his career but it fizzled out as soon as his injuries became an issue and he lost that yard of pace.
If anything I think he was very fortunate to win a Ballon d'or. I know he helped Liverpool to a 'treble' and got a hatrick against German but I don't think he was even the best player domestically that year, including most of the United and Arsenal players.
top 5: Henry, Kane, Shearer, Aguero and Rooney
Surely RVN has to be in there

Yeah, agree with this. Dont really see how there's even an argument for Owen to be ahead of any of those.
Once the Liverpool cult turns on you there’s no turning back.
I think he gets more disrespected for England, though. He’s arguably England’s best ever striker when you look at who he actually scored against.
