Best of all he’s a United supporter and plays for a club that may just need a cash injection to stay afloat with FFP.

They'll sell literally any other players in their team before they let anyone take him.

He's so good. obviously i see him for 90+ every game and some of his best games are the ones he doesn't score in.

Not just a stat padder but an all round class player who can dictate games.

I've been banging this drum all season, he's so talented, everything looks effortless.

What's impressed me most is his numbers, I didn't see him as a talisman, more of a playmaker who can bring others into the game, which he still does really well.

Chelsea have an absolute gem, still only 21.

From what I’ve seen I really like Madueke (apart from his tantrum today). Is he going to be awesome?

City have dropped a bollok letting him go and signing Doku imo but we’ll see in the long run.

As for England, he’s not going to be taking Saka’s place on the right I'd have thought.

You've got Mason Mount ,and we've got Cole Palmer !
it's a funny game ain't it !

I said from the beginning that he was a better signing than Jackson. Ifarka of course disagreed

Honestly I think it's a no trainer for clubs to try and sign him. Chelsea obviously won't want to lose him, but might have to to avoid a points deduction.

A no brainer rather

He won't be at Chelsea very long. Think City might even try and get him back or Madrid / Bayern could come knocking for him.

He will be there again next season but if Chelsea don't make the CL he's gone surely.

Yeah, that;s Southgate for you. Palmer should be one of the first names on the team sheet. We lack the ability to be composed under pressure, even with the attacking talent we have, Palmer has that.

I’d rather Saka on the right anyway.

I'm pretty vocal about my dislike of Southgate, but I don't think dropping Saka for Palmer is that obvious a decision... Saka has played very well for England in major tournaments and is a great player in his own right.

Palmer will make the squad and get minutes, no doubt.

I get Chelsea might need to sell but surely Palmer along with Enzo and Caicedo are ones they will keep. Gallagher and James are the obvious ones Chelsea will try and sell this summer

Saka over Palmer for England right now for sure.

posted on 16/4/24

Even as a Spurs fan I'm taking Saka over Palmer.

Palmer has been excellent but Saka has been a top player for years and has plenty of international experience.

It's an embarrassment of riches in the attacking areas for England...which I'm sure Southgate will squander.

Best young player in the world right now if we get him. The white Mason Mount and has never done it at the highest level if we don't get him. I have never seen him play.

Foden hasn't pulled up any trees for England though.

Which is a shame for England as imo right now he’s a top 3 player in Europe

I feel that with England having Saka, Foden and Palmer the fans should be over the moon with the skill and potential the three of them have?

That said I am not sure Gareth is the kinda manager that would open up enough to let them play the way they would like?

The only thing England are missing from being a World Cup winning side (apart from having Southgate) is a top midfielder to sit next to Rice in that formation. Bellingham should be playing ahead of that two.

he looks a real talent, poch seemed reluctant to play him and everytime he did he saved a game for him...odd.

Chukwuemeka is the one for me though. In terms of potential hes closest to palmer

I've thought he looks that comfortable on the wings tbh, he's best centrally.

I think it's fair to say Palmer is performing at a similar level this season though, to both Saka and Foden.

Bellingham is almost an issue for the Southgate now, I've never thought he's that brilliant technically, and now you have to sacrifice Foden or Palmer to get him in.

posted on 16/4/24

I rate Palmer highly and he's had a better season but I'm not yet convinced he's as good as Saka or has as high a ceiling. It's not unusual that players are particularly productive in their breakout seasons when teams haven't got wise to their threat and developed strategies to neutralise them, and for their effectiveness to dip a bit after that - and the hype to die down correspondingly. Actually, if you look at non-penalty goals, Palmer (as the main attacking outlet for Chelsea) has 11, while Saka has 9, so they are pretty close in output. Saka has been consistently classy in the PL and for England for two or three seasons, and he has plenty of experience in high stakes matches. I think he's ahead of Palmer at this point.

Personally I think Foden, Bellingham and Saka have all been better than Palmer this season but all 4 have been brilliant. This is Palmer's first season though so lets see how he progresses.
