If the comments are true, then Silva won’t be playing at the weekend.

good thing it seems it was made up pi$h and it means nothing anyway . scraps happen all the time at clubs, if they dont then there is something wrong
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No idea about that-it was apparently Roger Hannah that said the backroom staff are very unhappy with his attitude and Andy Halliday that said he won’t be playing at the weekend.

That's why I would play him wide, he's been a winger.

Just more likely to smash one in cutting in than Cantwell is. Wouldn't bother with a number 10 at the weekend.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Thats the problem with yu kids nowadays. No respect for the good old fashioned numbers 1 - 11 starting the game

media talk pi$h fights happen all the time , id be more worried if there was never any bit of trouble in training or after poor performances

Cantwell played plenty of games at LW for Norwich also. a quick look shows that Cantwell played more on the lef tthan any position for Norwich. Id play him there ahead of lawrence also. from the stats I can see Cantwell played 129 games for Norwich of which 89 of them were on the left wing

I thought he was a LW when we signed him tbh. I think he bombed so badly on the wing under Clement already he's basically a no10 for us or not on.

Not saying that's correct but don't see him getting moved out. Also if it's goals we need from wide surely Lawrence is more likely to get them. Wouldn't be adverse to seeing either on the left if Silva is dropped.

he played on the right under Clement and was rotten cos he kept cutting inside and closing off so many of his options. FWIW I dont see Clement moving him out wide either. If it was me with the players we have available I wouldnt be playing the 433 against Celtic.

Also Lawrence is awful at tracking back one of the reasons I wouldnt have him out wide. Cantwell is far better at pressing and tracking runners than Lawrence. Its the one thing that bothers me with Lawrence his off the ball work.

With what is available to us

Hopefully we can line up with
Butland
Tav
Souttar
Balogun
Yilmaz
Sterling
Lundstrum
Diomande
Cantwell
Silva
Dessers.

play two holding dcm's, play 2 no 10's get the width from fullbacks. play two up top in Silva and Dessers.

far from ideal but with lack of fit wide players I think this might be our best bet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Won't be far off.

Not sure I fancy the 2 numbers 10s given Tav has his hands full with Maeda without their full back overlapping. Could work if they've been well drilled on it all week but i'm sceptical.

I'd go 4-3-3.

Starting Silva and Lawrence in the wide roles. Cantwell dropped.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
my thinking is that with two holding mids they should be able to help out wide . suppose that could come down to whether Maeda starts?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
TBF Kuhn played against Hearts like a man knowing Maeda and Forrest were starting this weekend.

If I am honest I fear Tom Lawrence more than the others. He hit the ground running when he signed for you and has the capability to be a real threat. Cantwell has the capability but I don't think he links well with the other team - maybe that is where his cryptic post came from?

My concern is crosses from your LB towards Scales and Taylor - that is where Aberdeen correctly identified how to harm us. Rangers like to throw in 40000 crosses a game but with Maeda closing down Tav a lot then it means you may have to rely on your LB to do it. While Barisic, if it is him, has a brilliant cross he is also susceptible to getting dragged out of position then hit quick

I actually thought it was wingers cutting back onto their right foot and delivering to the back post that really exposed you against Aberdeen. dropping that ball into that area between Scales and Taylor had you all over the place. plus dont take away the delivery from Hoilett which has always been decent in his career.

Aberdeen also played around CCV which is what to do with someone built like him.

He is an excellent player but if he has one weakness it was highlighted by the Aberdeen striker sitting on his right shoulder then going round the back to get on the end of balls slipped inside.

CCV got caught on the turn a couple of times like that against the sheep.

Fortunately for Celtic the three forwards we have that could maybe show that type of movement are Sima (Injured), Danilio (Injured) and Roofe (perma semi injured).

On the other hand Dessers movement is horrific. So nothing really to worry about there for celtic.

Either way that is our weakness but you use your full backs for crosses hence why I spoke about them. You don't really do that as your wingers tuck in so that your full backs can push up. Same tactic from Gerrard to GVB to Beale to Clement

Barisic hasnt crossed the halfway line since 2022.

And that isnt how we play under Clement. Our fullbacks play far narrower under Clement and he likes our wide players to carry the width.... the problem is that we have played a striker and fullback as those wingers for more of the season than not.

When Cortez played he went either side but held his width a lot, same with Mcausland on the right When Sima was on the left.

When Sima played on the left barisic never moved and just constatly chipped balls for Sima to chase.

Subbed on 20m then?

He will likely play a part in last chance saloon - no point saving his body cos there won't be a next season in Glasgow.

3-0 win and we go top
That’s the aim

The reality?
More likely we are 3-0 down by half time and chasing goals that we don’t look like scoring

Not confident at all, and with Goldson out, Balogun picking up a knock at the weekend, could be a rusty Ben Davies in beside John Souttar as our centre halves…..fabulous

It’s the hope though, fcking kills ye
