Haven't listened to an Eminem album for the best part of 2 decades. Not in the top 20 all time, barely makes the top 100.

His first 4 albums were good but I've struggled to get into any of his stuff ever since.

Seems I have upset the Stans who probably have Eminem, 50 Cent and Drake in their top 5 dead or alive...

Robb, top 5 is open for debate for sure, however, the way I see Eminem is this…

His pop rap is unsurpassed, so number one for me in that respect. His timing, his rhyming is facking brilliant.

Even some of his other album stuff is great, but as a stage performer, it’s all actually a little boring.

Wouldn't say barely makes the top 100, but I'm mostly with DJ there. I honestly don't think he's released a good song in the last 20 years. His voice is monotnous and boring. Rarely actually says anything interesting in his lyrics. He's a talented rapper who makes shīt music.

All.subjective though.

Rob, Forza asked me to tell you that Bluey piiiiisses all over Eminem as a rapper and here is the proof:

Most of Eminems stuff from Recovery (2010) and MM2 (2013) were very good return to form songs from him.

Relapse was mainly puerile shiiit but some of it was quite funny at least - especially his takedown of Mariah 😅

In recent years he’s moved away from commercial stuff and arguably is being more original and pure than he ever was and it’s excellent stuff whilst not something that ever catches the ear for repeat listening. Think he was just bored and testing his limits as a rapper.

Only heard this in the OP from the new album but it’s just trashy fun and I personally think it’s the best way for him to bow out.

Only the stuff he did in his first years was up to scratch. Been a bit pathetic since but still one of the GOATs IMO.

Not like you to try being ‘edgy’ though, is it? Surprised you haven’t listed some random names no one has heard of and stated them as the best there has ever been 🙄

Putting Eminem in the same bucket as Drake or 50 is a nonsense. There’s no case you can make for Em not being in the top 10.

MMLP2 was only 10 years ago and was the most technically impressive rap album ever.

Personally, I felt the reaction Kamikaze got showed that too many people (hip-hop fans and critics) no longer value the tenets of rap, specifically lyricism.

If it’s not boats and ho’s they no longer want it.

Surprised Eminem isn’t a bit more up your street DJ, considering you’re both scared of gay people.

Eminem is easily top 3 along with Biggie and Pac, and even with the latter 2, it’s debatable how they would have adjusted to hip hop becoming more mainstream in the late 90s and early 00s.

What made Eminem so good was that his music was real. His lyrics weren’t your generic rap verses about facking hos and stroking his pistol (well most of them weren’t), they were about him, his family, traumas, fecked up family and upbringing, etc, real stuff that people could relate to.

Now that he is on the straight and narrow, the quality of those lyrics have declined. But it still doesn’t take away from what he’s done in the past, and he can still freestyle today better than 99% of rappers out there. Most of his peers say he is the best rapper alive. Game said he purposely stayed clear of Em during his beef with 50 because he knew Em could end his career. Ja Rule lost his beef with 50 as soon as he dragged Em into it, Ja said that was the biggest mistake he made in his career.

And DJ is a caaant for putting Em and Drake in the same sentence.

Oh and just watching the video for Houdini for the first time and yea Eminem is still the GOAT
