For me the things that get me most is people in the meat aisle that spend about 5 mins going through every piece of meat. They aren’t that different.

This. Also the way they inspect every pack of meat for the expiration date.

On top of that I hate the people who take about 10 mins to pay at the tills because they have vouchers to find, or start rummaging through their bags to find the cash to pay.

People talking on their phones while checking out. It is the height of ignorant behavior.

Yep or also the ones that are short of being eligible for a voucher (let’s say 10 quid off when you spend 100) and they end going back down the shop to pick up items to bring it up to 100.

People who pick something up from a fridge/freezer aisle, decide they don't want it later on and dump it on an ambient shelf so the product has to be thrown away.

The large self-checkout areas they have at Tesco for trolleys has pretty much removed all of my supermarket pet peeves. They're always empty too because no one wants to use them for some reason.

People who complain to staff that items are cheaper in the other supermarket down the road.

Well you should have bought it there then shouldn’t you?

Short lines at checkout. I never learn.

I try and avoid smaller supermarkets with narrower aisles because I'm sick and tired of people in front of me suddenly stopping and turning around to go the other way.

People who think it's OK to get really close and reach over you to get something from a shelf. Bit of patience please!

Cashiers who chat with you no matter what signals you give back. Sometimes I really don't want to chat!

I nearly always take our dog with us when me and Mrs DC go shopping. Means I can stay in the car to look after him whilst she's inside. I hate shopping!

Come to Spain, supermarket checkouts, street corners, shop doorways, roundabouts, anywhere that's in the way of everyone else. All good places for a long chat for Spanish old people
