R9 was probably more naturally gifted but at their peak it’s CR7 and not really a debate imo.

Not all about goals but:

R9 most goals in a season 47.

CR7 broke 50 goals 6 seasons in a row. 450 goals in 438 games for Madrid. That’s insane.

Both Ron’s are absolute unique specimens. R9 was hot knife through butter and CR7 was physically dominant in other areas.
CR7 overall ranks higher and more effective throughout the career which by definition makes him the better player. But R9 early on had the World Cup wrapped up and several other records and his talent is perhaps the highest of all players. Difficult to choose

Well articulated loved them both as players and both gave me so much enjoyment when I watched either one, would have interesting to see if R9 could have have some longevity and fitness with his career as to what his final stats might have been?

Don't forget though, before Cristiano became the goalscoring phenomenon (forgive me) he was a super skillful, tricky winger.

Played for both Milan clubs and both Spanish giants.

Peak fat Ronaldo lasted about 2.5 seasons.
Peak CR7 lasted about 10.

It's not even close. I have FR as an elite level player for sure. He was very scary during those 2 or so seasons but there's been a lot of "very scary" players.

CR7 on the other hand in what he has done, achieved and his longevity is mind bending.

CR7 is a top 5 player of all time
FR is a top 15 player of all time

This has given me an idea, might do a Scholes v Gerrard article, some early feedback would be appreciated

CR7 hasn’t been good to watch in about 15 years.

It's like asking who was a better driver out of Senna and Prost.

Prost won more titles. But was he the better driver?
