If right offer comes in, Summerville is gone and I expect that offer to come in.

Re build job, in budget. No chance this money goes back in.

There is no way Farke is going. He wouldn't get a better position than Leeds are in right now. He would be an idiot.

posted on 29/6/24

Come on Leeds, announce Ryan Kent on a 4 year deal and a Lime third kit.

I hope farke stays. He's good enough for now.

Seen lots of recent creative loopholes
Chelsea signing players on 8 year deals.
Everton and Villa buying a youth player for £9m from each other.
Chelsea selling Maatsen to Villa for £35m but then signing unknown youngster for £19m.

Why didnt we "sell him" to RBL for £40m. Effectively a loan given we would buy him back on promotion. Keep it in the red bull family

Kent is a sand dancing cvnt that couldn't cut it in Turkey or Scotland ffs.

LIke the lime, however.

How is this "financial fair play" in football? Clubs like Leeds have to sell their young players to meet the rules. I don't see how this benefits English football or makes the game fairer when there are still major clubs breaking the rules without sanction.

Wonder if Leeds will make some kind of statement regarding Gray. They are going about it the wrong way if they want fans on their side.

Makes you wonder if the no fans in Germany thing was intentional

Cant turn down £35m for a player, just turned 18.

And brentford, where he is very likely to start, is right for him.

No point going to spurs, liverpool etc etc, and barely get a game.

yup, romantics has lost it's place in football many years ago, we have to be realistic

BRENTFORD OFFER REJECTED !!!

Just seen that. Updated thread. Backlash of yesterday have anything to do with this??

Leeds United have rejected Brentford’s offer to sign teenage midfielder Archie Gray, according to Graham Smyth

posted on 30/6/24

does that mean we have had a huge offer for another player? <hmm>

god i hate this time of year

Tells me Leeds know Chelsea and spurs are sniffing. £50m we’ll end up taking it.

posted on 30/6/24

£45m + Rodon and he can go to spurs.

If this is true and the Brentford offer has been rejected then the owners must think they can squeeze another £10 million out of Spurs or Chelsea who in Rodon, Skipp and Gilchrist Leeds have a vested interest in acquiring so intriguing stuff to say the least and yes the no fans in Germany, despite trying to brush that off as due to policing is looking like the owners were or are fearing an ugly protest to recent events.

This was my initial thought....

but if they truely have to do the deal by TODAY, then that is a mighty risky negotiation strategy and they've got some right bolleaux !! With no other firm offer as yet, the risk of Brentford walking away is huge.
Maybe Marathe does do "contract negotiations in his sleep"!!

OR Brentwood also know we're against the wall on this so they tried to pull our pants down with a last minute reduced offer? And if that lower payment doesn't sort out our PSR situation then why bother selling at all ?

OR they've got a VERY strong 'almost confirmed' other bid. But I just can't see that.

🤷‍♂️

Having probably worked on this all week, I'm
convinced that they won't have rejected a concrete offer in place of a flimsy one...they just don't have that option.

Only way I can spin this is that they've been working on other financial jiggery-pokery alongside this, and got another 'option' .. like a Gnonto/Summerville exit, or , but even that is too quiet, or something else like some accountancy move.

But even having said that, if that was the case then why not just confirm Archie won't be sold, rather than "rejected offer".

This is a weird one.

Brentwood Town is a team in the Isthmian League from Essex, they have a ground with a capacity of about 1,000. I presume we didn't accept a bid from them by mistake.

Today.... 30 June.

Bergen Cross now reporting the offer was rejected due to the 'structure' of the deal proposed by Brentwood. Again, if that would have meant it didn't solve our financial issues then they're right to reject it. If it did then that is a risk cos Brentford might not be able to restructure the way we want it cos of their own PSR constraints, and the other teams might not come in formally today either.

Gonna be an interesting day.

Also allowing Cresswell to leave maybe suggests we're confident of getting a new centre back or two, especially if Rodon returning to Leeds is part of the Archie deal and also getting Skipp on loan from Spurs too would beef up our midfield so we'll just have to wait and see what the
next dramatic development is going to be.

Couldn't resist.

I know 30th, but is it midnight? 5pm?

And what happens subsequently?
