I'm hoping Chelsea come in now with a £70 million offer just to pee Spurs off and because their US owner doesn't seem to give a monkey's about splashing his cash like Harry Enfield.... Loadsamoney!

If this is true and the Brentford offer has been rejected then the owners must think they can squeeze another £10 million out of Spurs or Chelsea who in Rodon, Skipp and Gilchrist Leeds have a vested interest in acquiring so intriguing stuff to say the least and yes the no fans in Germany, despite trying to brush that off as due to policing is looking like the owners were or are fearing an ugly protest to recent events.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This was my initial thought....
but if they truely have to do the deal by TODAY, then that is a mighty risky negotiation strategy and they've got some right bolleaux !! With no other firm offer as yet, the risk of Brentford walking away is huge.
Maybe Marathe does do "contract negotiations in his sleep"!!
OR Brentwood also know .........
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Brentwood Town is a team in the Isthmian League from Essex, they have a ground with a capacity of about 1,000. I presume we didn't accept a bid from them by mistake.

Haha, living in the next town to Brentwood, my phone autocorrected!

I know 30th, but is it midnight? 5pm?
And what happens subsequently?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In theory, dont see why the deal cant be back dated to before end of 30th June. If the deal is more or there.
Don't think it is P&S for this year. Think it is for next year and probably to help with cashflow for all the transfer fees we have outstanding, which is why a structured payment doesn't work
If we fail to sell anybody, are we facing a transfer fee ban, some kind of suspended transfer fee ban (like Oxford United did) which I admit is unlikely or a points deduction or a combination of the above.
Is there a precedent in terms of points deductions and if so, how many points?
Ornstein saying we're in talks now, can see us doing a cash+player deal with one of Rodon and Skipp going the other way
Grief. Never a dull day for Leeds fans.
I initially thought great, we're keeping Archie. Was very
happy about it too. Then I kept reading. If he is going
I really hope it's to Spurs (Dortmund would've been
a great option IMO). Spurs seems a better fit. Plus,
Rodon & Skip figured into the deal would be superb.

it's a different situation really, Clarke had only started a handful of games for you, he was a cheap punt who we had no major financial incentive to get the best out of
we would be paying big money for Gray and he's just started nearly every game for a team that was a game away from getting promoted, is seen as one of the best teenagers in the county.
Hopefully we're not in too much of a rush to sell. Levy can be a tough nut to crack!

I grew up watching Canvey with dad. Local football is more about the friends. Beer behind the goal. 400 fans and you know most of them. No comparison to watching Leeds though, no matter how good or bad.
To spurs? Doesn't he have any ambition?
Can’t get excited about this season at all with Failure still in charge and the Board acting like they don’t know f-all about the lifeblood of this club. F-ing always the same with Leeds every F-ing time.
If we’re lucky we’ll end up with Gnot-wanting-to
-play-for-Leeds-O and Barndoor Bamford left, with Archie and Cresswell both gone. We haven’t got a clue have we.
Brentford would be a better move for Gray as he is more likely to play regular football. He is likely to languish on the bench for Spurs then disappear on loan.

Staying at Leeds would be the best move for him, and for the club. There has to be a different option than this. Gnoto, Summerville, even Melier if we have to.

£45m is a huge fee for him.

I can't see a club paying what's being said for an 18yr old and letting him rot, he's young but good enough to get what he wants!..

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Haha, living in the next town to Brentwood, my phone autocorrected!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where abouts are you Salonika? I am in Southend. Have followed my local non league side, Canvey Island for many years and am familiar with the Brentwood Town stadium. Sorry for the off topic.
I actually think that Archie to Spurs may work for us, but not necessarily for him. How many young players do they sign, waste and then eternally send on loan or sell?
Perhaps buy and loan back for thr season may work?

I grew up watching Canvey with dad. Local football is more about the friends. Beer behind the goal. 400 fans and you know most of them. No comparison to watching Leeds though, no matter how good or bad.

Can’t get excited about this season at all with Failure still in charge and the Board acting like they don’t know f-all about the lifeblood of this club. F-ing always the same with Leeds every F-ing time.

We can only sell if someone wants them. It seems Archie is the only one wanted at this point in time.
£45m is a huge fee for him.
