Yea, i'm sick of the lobster and caviar we get every day from the Tories.

Can any Reform supporter give just 1 single (realistic and costed) policy they believe will actually benefit the country?

posted on 4/7/24

Anyone voting Tory after what we have seen the last 14 years must need serious help.

Not a reform supporter, but scrapping the BBC licence fee is a policy I fully agree with to be honest. £170 a year charge for absolute shiite like Mrs Browns Boys should be reportable to trading standards.

BBC should be a susciption service

BBC are worried about them losing money cause people wont pay it

stop with the preaching, stop being so pro woke, become impartial again and create quality content and people will pay for the subs

2013: Farage states that Muslim immigrants are “coming here to take us over”.

2014: Farage says that the “basic principle” of Enoch Powell’s infamous anti-immigration Rivers of Blood speech was correct.

2014: When LBC radio presenter James O’Brien asks why Farage objected to Romanian migrants but not Germans Farage says, "You know the difference." Farage also says he would be “concerned” about living next to a house of Romanians.

2014: Defends the use of the word “ch**ky” to describe Chinese people.

2016: Farage comes under fire for his infamous immigration poster, which depicts a line of non-white refugees under the slogan "breaking point".

He has said that parts of Britain are like a “foreign land” repeatedly and that he feels “uncomfortable” hearing foreign voice on the tube. He has allowed overt racists to represent his (various) parties at different levels and done little to ensure his latest party doesn’t allow racists to stand as candidates.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

None of that is racist, unless of course you are looking for it in there.

Agree on Mrs Browns Boys

I always try and remember that you do also get Iplayer, all the radio channels, podcasts etc included within the license fee, but I do also think there's a lot of waste they could trim to bring the license fee down.

This one:-

Reform UK pledges include some big tax cuts for small business, including introducing a corporation tax free allowance of £100k in profits and lifting the threshold when businesses have to be VAT registered to £150k from £90k.

Small family run businesses are the back bone of the UK employing millions, yet most are forced to close due to the the rates they have to pay.

What you see as waste others may be watching. For example I don't listen to the Archers or watch Countryfile but don't begrudge either being on. The Been is value for how much you get for the price. How much for the equivalent on Sky etc?

Plus its soft power we sell around the world. In fact a lot of the BBC is funded through the programs they sell around the world.

Basically £15 a month. Still don't like to be forced.

“…most are forced to close due to the rates they have to pay.”

You have a source for that?

In essence, at least part of that policy I could certainly back.

But in the context of Reform’s policy package, when taken in the round, bankrupting the country overnight, it might not look quite so appealing

Or just scrap the fee and let BBC advertise to generate income instead like the other channels do.

That way we just have absolute shiite television on the BBC that nobody watches with adverts, instead absolute shiite on television that nobody watches that we have to pay for. And nobody cares about the adverts because nobody is watching the bbc shiite anyway. Win win for everyone.
