He’s 23, 6 ft 4 and has a bit of pace. Could well be a very good back up striker, or even more if he kicks on, but either way he strengthens the squad.

It's a poor signing but people feel the blow has been softened by the fact that he is "cheap" (he isn't), and was the best young player of the year in the league he played in or something.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he dispaced Hojlund if he can hit the ground running. He looks much better suited to playing with Rashford, and is a much more rounded footballer.
He could be your Gakpo. If you’ve got a fourth or fifth forward knocking in 10-15 goals a season it’s a proper bonus. He was £50m, and that’s how much GOOD squad players cost.
As Darren says though, there is every chance he hits the ground running.
On top of that, is he a good pro? EtH does like to sign them (even if some have not quite worked out), but I doubt you’ll see Zirkzee missing training cos he was out clubbing.
Seems a measured signing to me, don’t really get the negativity.
I’d hazard a guess that those being negative haven’t seen him play even 600 minutes of football fwiw

And only 58 the season before those two with Ronaldo up front scoring 18 PL goals.
The issue we have is that we don’t score enough collectively. We absolutely need another CF just to take some of the burden off of Rasmus, and ideally one that offers different qualities to him. Zirkzee looks superior at brining others into the game compared to Rasmus so whilst he might not be prolific himself, he may help knit attacks together better and help improve our overall goal threat.
The goal scoring issue however is lack of goals across the team. We need our wide attackers & support cast to contribute more than they did last season. Rashford, Garnacho, Antony, Amad, Sancho, Martial & Mount scored 18 PL goals between last season. That’s an average of 2.5 goals per player in the PL… A shambles really.
Rashford, Mount & Garnacho I’d hope to see improve their returns through better form (Rash), better fitness (Mount) and another year of development (Garnacho).
Amad looked like he could offer more than Antony and Sancho towards the very end of the season but I’d still hope to see more from Antony despite him not really looking good enough.
