It’s not so much of a rivalry these days as United has become a bit of an irrelevance competing for community shield trophies while we’ve been winning league and European competitions.

I’d say our main rivalry especially in the Klopp era has been with Man City and Pep.

Man Utd vs Leeds rivalry started back in the 1450s when Henry VI and Edward IV battled for the throne of England
After a few centuries they decided fighting was no longer the best way to resolve their differences and took to the football field.

The MU/Liverpool rivalry started with English occupation of Ireland, forcing good honest Irishmen flee to Liverpool. The English overlords based in Manchester and the Great Irish people of Liverpool were thus intertwined into rivalry. United bringing George Best to Old Trafford did little to resolve conflict but Roy Keane managed to diffuse the rivalry somewhat when he started war with some Frenchmen instead and Liverpool hatred eased somewhat.

Oh, Stupidson is from Birmingham is he? That really explains a lot.

Don't make the mistake of what is said on these pages genuinely reflects what happens up and down the country.
From a footballing point of view, I support Man Utd, and yes, have a great disliking for Liverpool. But I have various mates who support various clubs, including Liverpool, and we can have good banter without getting personal etc.
The problem on here is that most of us don't really know each other, we just go on what is typed, and that doesn't always come across well.
Overall, there are a hell of a lot of uptight folk on here who seem to have a mental age of 8 (apologies to 8 yr old around the world insulted by that and who aren't quite as funny or as smart as they think............

I've posted before about how good Pool fans were when I went to my first away game on my own, along the East Lancs on my bike.
So I like Liverpool fans and respect the club.. Plus whenever I have visited Liverpool I've had a good time.

Incidentally Liverpool offered.help to United after.Munich.
