Guys, what is your impression of the game?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good work out. Both played with high intensity.
Some naughty tackles going in. Surprised it didn’t kick off.. a shame Injuries still haunting us, kinda killed our game.
We put a kid who never plays RB, and suddenly it makes Martinelli; a world beater… but really wasn’t much in it. But Arsenal were the better side.
Oh the Refs were awful. Shocking even.
But looking forward to the season, just need a couple more signings.

Guys, what is your impression of the game?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Utd started brightly in the first half, quick to everything, a lot of energy, width down the flanks especially the right side, one touch football. Hojlund scored a brilliant goal. We could have added a few more.
Things changed fairly quickly when Hoilund was forced off, Hannibal brought and we played a false 9. It simply didn't work as we lacked a focal point. To matters worse our new boy Yoro was also forced off. Arsenal took control of the game and equalised through Jesus on 26 minutes. He was clearly offside.
Despite our lack of attacking focal point we remained bright generally and deserved to end the half ahead tbh.
Second half saw mass changes, Arsenal brought on Martinelli and he simply had our LB, Scanlon, on toast for most of the half, scoring the eventual winner. Arsenal were the better side in the second half.
It was a competitive game, Utd were always in it but succumbed to better quality in the second half. Good workout for both sides but at what cost for Utd, we'll find out soon the extent of both injuries.
Onana was very good throughout.

Fck sake. Sounds like a bad night on reflection, losing Hoijlund and Yoro for the rest of pre season would be awful.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, starting as we left off.
Hopefully this forces the clubs hand in signing another CB
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fingers crossed both pulled something rather than being too serious. Yoro completed only 50% of training sessions according to Eth. May mean he wasn't in tip top condition. Didn't really start the game well, misjudged a high ball allowing Jesus to run at goal but redeemed himself with a great recovery tackle. May have been high risk to play him. For me it's a three way discussion before the game; the player, medical staff and Eth. It was left to the player to inform Eth he was OK to play which on reflection has backfired as he aggravated whatever minor injury he was carrying.
How did Sancho get on? Sorry if it was covered in earlier posts. Not had chance to read through.
Surprised Sancho wasnt asked to play the false 9 rather than Hannibal.

Yeah, that's a good point.
Collyer and Amass stood out for me. Collyer in particular was quick to press, quick to the ball and rarely wasted possession. One occasion he ran from deep, slaloming through Arsenal, ending with a blocked shot.

I saw an interview where Shaw was asked about ones to watch coming through, and he named Amass, who I believe is a LB. Promising.
Collyer and Amass need to involved around the first team, Oyedele, too, in the coming season.

The other thing is, time for experiments is done.
People need to be playing their positions, and getting up to speed,
I hate the imbalances. Like Scanlon at RB..why?
And Antony and McT on the pitch stinking it up, we can’t be having that.

Scanlon, MCT and Antony highly forgettable performances. Although Scanlon was playing in an unfamiliar position tbf against the league's fearsome winger and he's cutting his teeth at the pro level, McT and Antony were woeful and had no excuse!

You’re right, Usually yes, but this is a very short pre-season.
Team need to be hitting the ground running, together as a unit.
I get it, Ten Hag is hampered with some players away, and by some deadbeats still at the club, so sure his hand is kinda forced.
