The only person to blame is Levy, this season will be another of "building towards something" (when is it ever not?), we are still short of a GK, LCB/LB & DM, we have an alarming lack of leadership as well.
We needed a top level marksman but got Solanke, we have over priced dross like Johnson, meh players like Werner etc etc
Once again we have been let down by our (not so) illustrious leader.
Levy out.

Just need a good striker to finish them off.
Instead you've got the couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo pairing of Richarlison and Solanke.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Solanke has to be given a chance ffs; but Richy I think this is as “good” as it gets.
Soldado vibes.
Leicester is another one of those teams who for some reason hate Spurs even though they had the last laugh.
last night after promotion and under the lights it was always a banana skin for us and we utterly dominated.
performance wise i think only city and arsenal could argue they looked better than spurs and are miles ahead of the chasing pack anyway.
Solanke to score against everton at home and hopefully 3 points with another dominant display and there are many reasons to be optimistic.
i think most spurs fans are not interested in top 4. a run in domestic cups and the Europa is where i will mostly be downbeat with a result like last night.

Well I’d rather not stumble in the first game! But it’s done now, gotta try and be positive.
I’d still start Deki over BJ in the next game tho!
Think Farteta is writing beautiful chapters like he claims in the media (bloody farts if you ask me!) And Ange meanwhile is still tweaking with his misaasembled lot who look like ragamuffins, outfits put together at the last minute. Jumbled up bunch of inequal ability players, who for a nickel play a banjo!
Nowadays, we have Sonny to repesent our lucrative far east investments, he will welcome you and retire!
Then we have a bizarre lot up front who if theywidened the goal by 12ftx12ft would still miss
Not mentioning drugged up midfielders who play with heads in the cloud -
Welcome to Spurs 2024...The Ange way
I thought we played very well last night and improved after the subs came on too.
Madders looked good as did Bergvall.
Our defence looked superb until they were put under a tiny bit of pressure and they just could not handle it........ unfortunately as expected.
Yes, we need to score goals when on top and dominant like we were.
What annoys and worries me is when the second goal did not come we seemed start to let them back in and the usual inevitable happened. We seem to lack the nowse to shut it down when we need to... it an age old problem we have not an Ange issue.
Sat will be a tough game no doubt. Dyce will be in his element to bore us to death and nik it.

The batte of Cough syrup drinkers presser
Obviously only a little bit because the bloke has everything he wants in life, but I feel slightly sorry for Levy because I do feel that whilst he sees the club's long finances as nr 1, he would genuinely love to give the fans something to behold. I think he'd love to sit there like Emperor Commodus and proudly show everyone what he he brought them. I'm sure that was the aim with Ange. He imagined being able to think 'look at this wonderful football I have given to you you, as you called for. Please enjoy it isn't it a wonder to behold?'.
Instead he must realise now that Ange is just some oddball, who's making his fortune before disappearing into obscurity managing in Saudi or retiring to the Gold Coast.
Exactly the same as last season, firing blanks in front of goal, on a night when Maddison had his best game since the start of last season the forwards couldn't find the net, Johnson totally out of his depth needs to be on the bench, Son wasn't great either hopefully Odobert will give us something different on the wing, just weren't enough balls going into the goal area didn't trouble the keeper enough
Not the start to the season that was required, lots to work on this week
Subs were a total mess, way to late and badly thought out

Same cr@p as last season, same mistakes, same wasted chances, didn’t look any different.
Poor Strike....Feel for him...Ever so optimistic!!
Think we will get better but Ange needs to trust the young ones. Drop Son, BJ and play Gray, Bergvall!
what about Kulu? The most in form player in pre-season is subbed? Really?
Does Ange know what he is doing?
Kulusevski is clearly a better player than Johnson but Ange wants his wingers to stretch the pitch and beat their man. Kulusevski is better inside. Arguably he should be taking Sarr's place, not Johnson's.
Trouble is the alternatives for right wing are all pants or unproven. Hopefully Odobert hits the ground running. I said it earlier in the week but I can easily see him pushing ahead of Johnson and Werner over the course of the season.

It was pretty much total.domination. I said to my son we need 2 by HT otherwise anything can happen.
In those situations there's not much more.the coach can say but keep it going...but their managerncan get into them and fire them up. So they had gone in at one nil and a chance at HT to figure things out..
We have to learn to be so clinical and punish teams. They had 1 chance in an hour and scored. We had half a dozen .
Romero switched off for the goal, ball watching and when you watch our defence there is little communication. Romero walks passed Vardy but never looks around or communicates with Porro to make sure there is cover behind him.
So I blame poor finishing and an individual mistake by Romero as the reason, and the latter got the home team and fans all geed up.
Must learn from this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree.
I think the issue is that we’re asking BJ to improve in decision-making, finishing, crossing, taking on his player when he’s never been that good.
Same with Werner.
Solanke gets a pass until Xmas but you’d expect him to have scored one last night. Also, he didn’t look match fit/ready which makes the decision to buy him late on either a punt or just poor management by the club.
Maddison has got the ability and quality it’s his consistency - I think he has the potential to iron that out.
Son - I know we love him, but he’s just not what he was and he’s definitely no captain. We should’ve been making an investment in his replacement and getting them to learn from him this season. We won’t though, we will keep him until he’s 35. And when I say investment, I mean a proper player.
We’ve praised the club for getting rid of the deadwood - rightly so. But we keep buying players that are so obviously going to become deadwood and the cycle continues.
We buy far too many players in the hope one will come good but the rest become deadwood.
Devonshire, I agree with you completely but I think we’re asking players to hit levels they have not shown they can.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Feel a bit sorry for BJ as on the left side its usually Son Udogie Maddison combining, 3 quality players
In the right it's BJ Porro and Sarr so BJ isn't worked into decent space enough.
That said there was a moment when he picked up the ball around half way, had acres to run into but instead checked back, stood on the ball and lost it. He didn't have a good game. Odobert will give him a run for his money so hopefully we will find decent options for that side even if neither of them are superstars....yet.

I'll let Solanke off cause it's his first game but the rest of our attack need to do more and it's been that way for a while. The wing play is inadequate to the point we're almost pinning our hopes on the guy we just signed out of the blue.
On the strength of yesterday, Odobert gets an automatic start next game.
We know what we'll get with Werner already, and with BJ I'm not totally sure there's going to be enough progress and development. Son is our best attacker but we know he will have a large chunk of games in a season where he's simply not at it, like yesterday. Kulu might have upped his game since last season, I guess we didn't get to see much of him last night. At least Maddison looked as good as he has done for a long while so that's one positive. Not much good if the players around him are still off it.
I was surprised Deki didn't start wide left particularly with his delivery and Solanke being a good target in the box.
I thought he should have come on sooner.
Us making 4 subs at once was a bit like a friendly where half the outfield is changed and you lose fluency. Bergvall and Gray looked very good but with no Maddison and with Werner on the right it messed up our fluidity
