the Prem clubs want guaranteed playing time for their loanees, this means someone else's player gets nod ahead of our player and its not based on merit.
Carvalho last season was one who had guaranteed minutes. He’d have been a brilliant signing for us in January, but you couldn’t have a situation where he was playing over any of our attackers because we had to. The lad who’s gone to Sheff Utd from palace reportedly has that too

If we make the right loan signings, in the right positions,
I'd welcome not seeing Bamford. I won't be bothered
if Gruev or Dan James have to come off the bench.
I'd be okay if we signed a loanee striker who could
bag goals for fun, but relegated Joseph to the bench.
He's still young. And learning. He'd learn from the
PL loanee.
I'd be okay if we got a keeper who forced baguette
wrists into the number 2 slot. I'd be okay if Firpo wasn't
our first choice left back. I'd love it if we got a genuine
#10 who forced Aaronson, Piroe, and Rothwell aside.
Not suggesting we do all that. But, remember it was
shrewd loans that helped Southampton and Ipswich
go up. While we're still down here. If you're smart,
they can actually help your club.
Besides, this squad isn't good enough right now.
Getting in a tizzy over players who aren't good enough for the Prem, not getting minutes is idiocy.
The more I read the comments on here and think about it I hope we don't get Benson now which really would leave our realistic options of a wide player at just Jaidon Anthony and hoping Gnonto isn't flogged off to the highest bidder....Tick tock tick tock!!!!

Wouldn't be surprised if we don't sign anyone in this window, certainly not for a sizeable fee.
Stinks to me of making the club as cash rich as possible before a RB takeover.

Hard to argue with this on the current evidence. It looks as though the 49’ers looked to get promotion last season. Once that failed, they decided to sell up and sell out this season. My guess is that with player sales and parachute payments, they are close to break-even on their investment. Whatever they sell the club for will mostly line their pockets. I am sure that the amortised payments due to us can be sold on to the next owners. The 49’ers seem like a twenty-first century variation of our previous custodians, with better suits and brighter smiles.

I've been reading that his agent is pushing very hard for a move even tbough there are no clauses in Gnonto's contract. - Gnonto has seen his pals leave and wants to progress his career like they are doing. - Could be all hot air but I can see some logic in it.

I now wish the owners would just announce they've sold the club and they're handing over complete control to Red Bull and clear off as their performance since the play off defeat has been totally disingenuous and disrespectful to the massive loyal fan base keeping schtum to this degree after selling all our key assets is highly suspicious. WTF is going on????
