The real issue is that there aren't really that many undecided voters, especially in the places that will really determine who wins. So even such a poor Trump performance doesn't mean it's a foregone conclusion.
It kind of says everything that despite the type of person than Trump is, it is still a close call. I'm not convinced by Harris' competency, if the Republicans had a half decent non-controversial candidate, they would probably win fairly easily.

Harris is going to stroll it, most likely. A better candidate that Biden and Trump only got in the first time due to massive countrywide dislike of Clinton that swung it.
The fact is, that Trump should not even be anywhere near being a presidential candidate, which goes to show that the people of America, cannot be trusted or relied upon to make a sensible decision, consequently nothing would surprise me in this election.
I still find it mind boggling that the fat freak show is still free to be walking the streets !
In fairness to the American people, he's lost the popular vote both of the times he's run. Besides, it's mostly money that gets candidates into a position to fight for the presidency, and he'll always have corporate sponsors given his tax treatment of corporate America.

Just to put a slightly brighter spin on this, that's only as a percentage of the people who actually turn up to vote.
Participation tends to be around 60-65% of the voting population.
I'm schidt at maths, but I'm guessing that all in all it might not even add up to 30% of the voting population. Which is still too many, but not quite as depressing as 45%.

The only time Ohio voted for anyone other than the winner since 1960 was the 2020 election. So it hasn’t been that far right for long.
It just happens to have elected some total basket cases into both sides of the house n recent years.
...and the bottom line is, that we shall be having even more Yanks coming over to Europe !
These debates don’t matter at all tbh.
The Biden thing was a one-off since it exposed the fact to everyone who didn’t already know that he wasn’t able to run.
But when it’s two normal candidates, they don’t affect votes.
