These debates don’t matter at all tbh.

The Biden thing was a one-off since it exposed the fact to everyone who didn’t already know that he wasn’t able to run.

But when it’s two normal candidates, they don’t affect votes.

Trump will still win the election.

Just finished watching it and Kamala definitely came off the winner if anyone was keeping scores, by a landslide.

It’s obviously good for her as she needs all the voters she can get. Trump won’t lose any voters over it though

……

He will. He will lose quite a lot. What will not happen is he will not gain any. He can not win the election with just his moronic weirdos voting for him.

Knee deep isn’t enough to win an election.

The only time Ohio voted for anyone other than the winner since 1960 was the 2020 election. So it hasn’t been that far right for long.

It just happens to have elected some total basket cases into both sides of the house n recent years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, I know about Ohio's voting history, but it's had a relatively comfortable Republican majorities the last two presidential elections, particularly after Trump's first term. Unless I'm mistsken, it isn't even considered a potential swing state this time around.

Just curious as to why Trumpism has been more successful there, because it doesn't seem to be in line with what's happened in most of the country.

No idea. There are places in Ohio where the people seemed to me to be quite rational. I was there for a long weekend last year in Dublin.

Trump is normal? Seriously?!! He’s a fecking lunatic, who wouldn’t recognise the truth (on pretty much anything) if it bit him on the ass.

It's just that the polls suggest that Ohio's the only Rust Belt state looking decidedly Republican. All the others are considered too tight to call. I'm curious to know what it is that sets it apart.

Overall it still looks really tight. According to 538 (a ABC News polling aggregator site quoted by Fox 5) the breakdown for the key battleground states is as follows:

Arizona: Trump +0.9%

Trump: 46.3%
Harris: 45.4%
Georgia: Trump +0.7%

Trump: 46.5%
Harris: 45.9%
Michigan: Harris +1.8%

Trump: 44.9%
Harris: 46.7%
Nevada: Tied

Trump: 45.6%
Harris: 45.6%
North Carolina: Harris +0.2%

Trump: 46.0%
Harris: 46.2%
Pennsylvania: Harris +0.6%

Trump: 45.7%
Harris: 46.3%
Wisconsin: Harris +2.5%

Trump: 44.9%
Harris: 47.5%

Looks way too tight to call. Trump likely has more of the hidden vote, since he's more widely perceived to be prejudiced and disrespectful.

Michigan has a large Muslim community in Dearborn which are angry at Genocide Joe’s handling of the Palestine genoicde which is why it’s not certain to turn blue.

It’ll probably come down to Pennsylvania to who wins the whole thing. Unless Kamala can flip a couple of other key swing states.
