How many deaths are there a year due to financial doping?
I'm struggling to find the figures.

I'm very unsure either way.
We live in a free capitalist country, they have broken no laws, they have used their riches to buy success like many before them.
On the other hand football is the peoples sport ,the working man's sport. It was becoming more and more a rich man's play thing or investment.
Working men find it hard to afford.
Thinking back to the days of Ray, Mick and myself it wasn't out of reach.
So the second paragraph is where I stand, so an exemplary punishment should be made.
Sorry Boris, Melts et Al, but it's how I feel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whether they have broken laws or not is what the case is about. They're bound by the laws of the competitions they compete in but more than that if found guilty then they could face charges in regards to laws of the country they compete in, I'd imagine as they'd have been found the have falsified accounts submitted to HMRC.
No idea how you can say they have broken no laws. This is what is to be determined.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because using your wealth to buy success is not illegal, but I'm sure they've broken EPL rules. Laws of the country I've no idea, but that's what the charges are about. If it's also illegal then they face a different court and punishment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Falsifying accounts is illegal. HMRC could potentially look into this if City are found guilty and the evidence is enough for them to pursue it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The falsified accounts would be at the sponsors, not at City. There’s no question the money got to city, it’s the source that’s been questioned.
Hence why it’s a PL investigation and it wasn’t handed over years ago.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Technically yes but City would still be complicit obviously. Considering some of the evidence, if corroborated, the people requesting the funds knew where it was coming from but requested it show it came from a different source as they weren't allowed to receive more funds from the actual source of the funds.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which isn’t illegal at all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It isn't illegal to knowingly request funds from one source which you know are coming from another and therefore be complicit in falsifying records? It isn't illegal falsifying records stating you're paying one amount to staff but actually pay another hidden amount?
Not sure about that. I'd say HMRC would be interested.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The first one, no, that isn’t illegal, not for the receiving entity (remember all of the money went from the sponsors to City). Of course it isn’t!
The second one isn’t illegal either. HMRC might well be interested in the image rights payments, but then there’s quite a few clubs actually under investigation for that with HMRC, including United.

Ideally a point deducted for each charge. 115 points deducted so even if they win every game they finish on -1 point. It not only relegates them without directly relegating them, but also wastes a season in the process given they would be doomed from day one.
Obviously won't happen but I'd love to see it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Apparently something like this could actually happen if they're found guilty of all charges, according to a football finance expert. 🤞🏻

This, unsurprisingly, wrong
What are the 115 charges against Man City?
Man City are accused of:
54x Failure to provide accurate financial information 2009-10 to 2017-18.
14x Failure to provide accurate details for player and manager payments from 2009-10 to 2017-18.
5x Failure to comply with Uefa's rules including Financial Fair Play (FFP) 2013-14 to 2017-18.
7x Breaching Premier League's PSR rules 2015-16 to 2017-18.
35x Failure to co-operate with Premier League investigations December 2018 - Feb 2023.

Just as worrying, that’s wrong too! Really don’t get why every media outlet is counting it up wrong when the pl statement is still available to all, if they’re counting every regulation in every season that has been alleged to have been breached, then it’s higher than those numbers.
It has been since the start when they got the charges wrong, I’m assuming the 115 came from that initially and everyone just kept running with it.

You know as times gone I’ve kinda softened my hard stance on City
They started behind atleast the top 10. Built a stunning back room organization
Hired primarily the right coach for the right phase of their project. I grew up in Withy and I can tell you what they’ve done not just for the east side, local economy
Forgetting how they turned 80 acres of disgusting abandoned brownfield crap and made it beautiful with grass, wildflower meadows, picnic areas, I swear ion the right day you’d sit out there and you’d forget you’re in Ancoats etc
Or the 6000 homes they agreed to build in east Manchester over the next ten years starting with fave 1 1.2bn quid first 1000 which is already started
The beautiful marina?!
City have barely if at all out spent Chelsea United even Arsenal since he took over
They just built a great org and benefit off that

I never had a hard stance in the first place but if they've broken the rules everybody is bound by, whilst others followed them, they should be punished accordingly.
Agree they have done things well from a football perspective and that they started behind everyone else, however that has nothing to do with the rules they signed up to and are charged with breaking.

Apparently something like this could actually happen if they're found guilty of all charges, according to a football finance expert. 🤞🏻
----------------------------------------------------------------------
130 charges!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
12 charges concern financial matters
103 charges of failing to cooperate.
Considering non of us know what the questions were or who was asking them, only an eejit would assume any guilt there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Next week and beyond shall reveal all !

Ideally a point deducted for each charge. 115 points deducted so even if they win every game they finish on -1 point. It not only relegates them without directly relegating them, but also wastes a season in the process given they would be doomed from day one.
Obviously won't happen but I'd love to see it.

This, unsurprisingly, wrong
What are the 115 charges against Man City?

I never had a hard stance in the first place but if they've broken the rules everybody is bound by, whilst others followed them, they should be punished accordingly.
Agree they have done things well from a football perspective and that they started behind everyone else, however that has nothing to do with the rules they signed up to and are charged with breaking.
