Strike, you're going all hafi on us. The shots you're taking are quarter chances or half chances. Even against Everton, it was a thunderbolt from bissouma that broke them down.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We mullered Everton - we were through one on one after only 2 mins of the game but hit it straight at Pickford. Then another about 15 mins later when Romero hit it straight at Pickford. The third was a minute into the second half when Son hit it straight at Pickford.
Beyond that - Bissouma scored a great goal, Pickford absolutely gifted the second. Tarkowski defended the set piece for the third like he was a Tottenham defender and the 4th was just embarrassing from an Everton point of view - letting VDV run the length of the pitch unopposed
It's a combination of not really having any good creators, and not having any good finishers. Your attack is just full of shiiiit players. Which is shocking, considering the amounts you've spent.

I think you have to delve much deeper into the stats.
Our xg is mid table.
When you look at deeper stats of the game like clearances we was the one under more pressure against Arsenal.
Against Newcastle great amount of shots. Until you delve deeper and see 7 shots were by pedro porro in his usual ridiculous shooting positions.
Possession, area percentages, field tilt they all look good until you realise it comes to nothing.
We would need Harry Kane to convert chances that are not really chances to stand any chance under the Aussie Ardilles.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Either missing chances, or taking shots when we shouldn’t - it doesn’t look good for Ange and goes back to the original point made by Edin - what are these building blocks being put in place - speculative shooting with low conversion? Poor set piece defending? Loads of possession without many touches in the oppos box?
I started this thread unconvinced about Ange and have become even more so as the responses have come in - I can’t see what it is he is building - it looks like soft shiete Spurs of the 90’s early 00’s to me.
I like Solanke, but spending 65m on him when you got 80m for Kane kind of sums it all up.
Could be dumb players. Could be that the manager is telling the players to shoot, rather than overplay it in the final third and risk getting countered because of your shiiiiit defence.
Have to agree Strikteam, the footballs actually not been
bad until we get to the opposite penalty box and we just lack any ideas. And sadly the longer a game goes on we are likely to concede.
We have Matched all teams and arguably been better in all games but we are always likely to concede partly due to how open we play and inability to kill teams off.
Maybe fans want us to go back to Mourinho days where we struggled to string 2 passes together.

I'm happy to stay with Ange, even if we dont end up doing anything under him I think he will help create the right building blocks going forward.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Struggling to see those block, it’s all style and no substance from what I can see. Ange doesn’t even have a particularly decent record with youth players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Recency bias mate. We played some great football last season and scored a lot of goals all season.
Tricky place right now so hard to see the positives but even not being 3 - 0 down vs Arsenal is an improvement. We just need to get smarter both ends of the pitch so that our possession really counts and isn't rendered pointless by defensive errors.

Son was elite - time has caught up and we probably should have moved him on in the summer. But he isn’t Schitt.
Werner and BJ - I’m not sure there is a Spurs fan out there who would disagree with that.
Richy is just a faaacking sick note. Had enough of him, when he isn’t missing he is warming the physio’s bench.
Solanke - I disagree, too soon, he has played 2 games for us and some of our best ever players in the Prem era started poorly - Modric, Bale and Son being the obvious.
Maddison - whilst certainly not schitt, he has not lived up to expectations. The frustrating thing with him is he is capable of much more, but he seems a billy big bollox to me and needs to get the fire back in his belly for football again
Kulu - will always defend. I think he is a top player, just a bit streaky. But I genuinely enjoy watching him play and he is capable of magic.
Beyond that we have a 16 year old kid that we allegedly turned down an 8 figure sum for in the summer with Madrid and Dortmund amongst his suitors - about time Ange gave him a go.
I also like the look of Odobert.
So I half agree with you, but there is more nuance to it. Romero is a case in point - allegedly wanted by Real Madrid, World Cup and Copa winner, ability undoubted - but hasn’t been able to concentrate for 90 mins all season so far - he is costing us
Anges refusal to address defending set pieces is getting right on my teeets also

No it's not. It's a case of having a team playing a very different way to before with new players where it takes time to build relationships and understanding.
Arsenal barely scored under arteta for 2 seasons and now do so for fun with largely the same players, learning developing getting better.
It's far too early to point the finger at any one reason why we didn't score against Arsenal's parked defence

Stop banging on about tactics. They have contributed to 1 of 4 goals in 4 games and that's when all but romero tracked their runners. Basics from him. 3 times lost his man.
Levy has turned Tottenham Hotspur Football Club into a footballing irrelevance, all we do is go round and around on Levy`s roundabout of sporting incompetence and failure.
True fans are being turned off by the cost and the clown show ownership, and replaced with tourists and affluent happy clappers.
I actually think Ange would do alright if he had been given the players he actually asked for, but there is no way he asked for a load of not ready kids and Solanke, those are club signings 100%.
Ange is too much of a yes man to complain or kick up a fuss..... a dream manager for Levy after Conte told us all exactly how it is.
This club desperately needs new owners.
Levy out.

We always switch off from corners - can’t just blame Romero for that. Last season we were blaming Ben White/Nathan Ake/the FA for allowing our keeper to be blocked - other teams did training on it so it didn’t keep happening to them.
It’s all tactical - if Romero goes for a wander like he did against Leicester then someone else covers

The shooting is probably just down to brainless players taking the wrong option.

Could be dumb players. Could be that the manager is telling the players to shoot, rather than overplay it in the final third and risk getting countered because of your shiiiiit defence.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t even think our defence is that shiiiit individually, I think it’s more to do with the high line and refusal to train defending set pieces.
But taking speculative shots so we’re not countered is faaaa king insane if that is really what is happening
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s crap individually and collectively.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s not individually - Romero and VDV walk into the United defence.
Romero will most likely be at Real next year.
He has had a schitt start but he is a great defender as is VDV - the tactics don’t suit Romero at all though in my opinion
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And this the problem with Spurs fans, they think their defenders are good and then are shocked when they keep conceding stupid goals.

He's lost 1 player at a corner and switched off to lose Vardy.....tactics? How?
