So, Ruud isnt to be retained? (which seems unlikely if Amorim is bringing his team with him). Wonder if he is happy about that, or what his motivation is now if he has to walk when Amorim and his team get to Manchetser
Great news.
I wonder how Rosso is feeling, having *staked his reputation* on the certainty that Amorim would reject United in order to go to City.
As expected, it’s been a whirlwind from the fans' perspective, it's been truly breathless. However, for the Utd sporting leadership, it may not seem so, as discussions may have been ongoing for some time, even when EtH was still at the club.
What I find peculiar is the 30 day notice period in his contract, in addition to the release clause. Surely, by paying to release him from his legal obligations at Sporting, we should hold the rights, and the release clause should override the notice period. It seems we may have been generous and conceded to their request to manage a few more games at a tricky time or simply both terms co-exist and we had little choice, it is bizarre nonetheless.
Btw, time to change your onscreen name, it's not quite 😙🤌.
I’m so happy Ruud gets a few more games. Chelsea, PAOK and Leicester at home again. Hopefully he wins all 4.

He may well not stay - I guess it's totally appropriate it should be Amorim's call (and then Ruud's if he's invited to stay). Apart from the sentimental aspect, I don't see much risk in losing him. As a recent arrival, he's not someone who can provide a sense of long-term continuity / be a conduit to relationships within the club. As an employee of Ten Hag's project, there may not be coaching content that Amorim wants to tap into. So I guess it comes down to whether Amorim sees him as a valuable figure to have in his team, based on his abilities and the old-United DNA he can offer.
I'd have no concerns about Ruud's motivation either way. He will want to do his best out of love for the club and professional pride. And for his CV, it's better to have steadied the ship and provided the best possible handover.

It depends entirely on what it says in the contract. A contract could be written that states that triggering the release clause dissolves the contract immediately, or subject to a notice period.

In his post match interview yesterday, he expressed a desire to help the club in any capacity, suggesting he’s open to a coaching role. Retaining him could be beneficial, as his enthusiasm alone could be infectious. Of course, Almorim will likely want to assemble his own team, which might mean Ruud's time at Utd could be shorter than he anticipated when EtH initially offered him the assistant role. He won’t be pleased, as his primary reason for returning was to redeem the circumstances under which he was compelled to leave the club as a player. It’s a truly unfortunate predicament
I’m sure Ruud’s a pro, must be gutting to only be at the club a few months but this is how football is at times. I’m sure his reputation hasn’t been harmed, in fact results like last night will probably put him even more in the spotlight for jobs. Didn’t he turn down a Championship managers role for us in the summer, I’m sure he’s still capable of getting that kind of job.

At times, Rosso seemed to be flip-flopping, likely with beads of sweat enveloping him as he contemplated his next crucial prophetic move. Almorim’s arrival and his performance at Utd, whether good or bad, will closely reflect on Rosso, who will be judged accordingly. 😉😁

A lack of passion and enthusiasm was noted as a negative during his time at Ajax, and now at Utd as well. Regardless of how meticulously detailed you are as coach/manager, if players don’t sense genuine enthusiasm and care, a crucial quality is missing. It’s important to strike the right balance between being overly enthusiastic and not showing enough.
This should have been done in the summer.

During his famously unsuccessful time at Ajax, right?
I've always been sceptical about the importance attached to "showing passion" in football management. Many hugely successful managers have been reserved in temperament yet very effective at motivating players. Lots of old Arsenal players talk about how powerful an effect Arsene Wenger had on the dressing room specifically because of his calmness. An ability to communicate ideas and to generate buy-in is crucial, but there are different management styles that can be equally effective. In our daily work lives, do we respond better to managers who jump around and wave their arms in the air?
(Which is to say, ETH clearly failed at the communication side of management, but I think that comes down to something beyond purely not being passionate)

We seemed to play with much more freedom, with smiles on the players' faces. However, this newfound freedom may have also contributed to the same errors in defensive areas or it could just be that certain individuals cause chaos because they are cr@p. It’s interesting to consider whether this freedom led to a higher conversion rate of chances compared to our season average, or if players are choosing to turn their performance on and off at will. Who knows ? The chances conceived and converted with confidence does not explain why we are where we are. From the outside, it’s understandable for fans to speculate, especially given the number of managerial casualties and the patterns of play leading up to each sacking that we have bad eggs in the group.

I didn't imply a lack of success, at Ajax, but rather made an observation. Naturally, without a thorough review of why his tenure at Utd failed, we might speculate that a lack of passion and enthusiasm was a contributing factor. In reality, the situation may be much more nuanced. We are comparing a very good club with an established sporting leadership team led by Overmars as DOF and Van De Sar as CEO, which had a winning formula, to the chaos at Utd, where the sporting structure is still developing. There’s more to the situation than meets the eye, but from a simplistic view, it suggests that the absence of passion and enthusiasm may have played a role in his downfall, though to what extent is open to date.
