I don’t think she was as accessible to the public, Trump did podcasts, interviews, had sound bites and his policies were pretty clear.

I don’t feel I got that from Kamala, she mumbled her way through many questions without giving any clarity to the questions she was asked. She didn’t do many public interviews (SNL, think I may have seen her in Oprah?).

I don’t her being a woman had anything to do with it, early indications are that the Hispanic and, funnily enough, female voters were what swung it for trump.

I don’t think it spells good news for the UK, Starmer needs to get in line now and apologise for the team sent to the US in support of the Democrats, not sure what he was thinking.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What was he thinking?

He was thinking there is no way a complete cant would get elected again after the complete disaster of his last run.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s been a pretty disastrous office for the democrats don’t forget. Inflation and interest rate spiralled, inability to control geopolitical tensions, immigration off the charts, many people left far left states to traditional republican states.

The fact is, like the UK, people probably didn’t vote for the eventual winner, they voted for change because they are sick of diminishing living conditions.

White men, white women, Black men, Black women, Latina women ALL tracking their 2020 numbers very closely.

Latino men, 2020: Biden 59%, Trump 36%
Latino men, 2024: Harris 45%, Trump 53%

A HUGE shift from D+23 to R+8

This is a massive flop from the Dems, they’ve struggled so badly with different demographics.

The only good thing to come out of this is the Dems getting hit with well deserved karma for the Gaza genocide
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Trump told Netanyahu to 'finish the job' ... there would have been a much better chance to stop the genocide with Kamala instead of an unstable nutter in the White House.

Watching interviews conducted with MAGA at the rallies over the past few months, it's clear that they let Fox news do their thinking for them. There is literally no intelligent discussion to be had.

Trump has about 2 million fewer votes than he got in 2020

Kamala has about 14 million fewer than Biden got in 2020

this is a Democrat collapse, they ran a completely impotent campaign.

They’ve had 13 months to stop the hoard of Palestinians being slaughtered and blown to pieces, when was it going to change? Instead of rectifying the issue they’ve been funnelling billions of dollars to Israel to finish the job.

In the upside, my stocks and shares ISA is up 11% today.

The Democrats sent out Bill Clinton to tell Palestinians and Arabs in Michigan that Israel was destined for the Jews and the Palestinians should be grateful they’ve got Gaza and the West Bank. And they wonder why the vote collapsed in epic proportion for that demographic.

FFS so bored of hearing this.

The Gaza genocide will be far worse under Trump, may as well say it was Isreal who really won this election.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Israel are done using the Dems. The Dems have exhausted their credit, their image tarnished as genocide enablers and had grown tired of backing Israel.

Now they bring in Trump who is coming in with renewed vigour and eager to prove himself. A new injection of life into their genocide.

Let's pray that all who didn't go to vote for Harris don't end up regretting it. Let's see what Trump does. There's no point continuing the war as Gaza is a crater already.

Nah, f*ck apologising, I’m glad the Trump team know that the British Government wanted him to lose, as that reflects the view of the British people.

Britain needs to turn to Europe now. F*ck AmeriKKKa.

I'll answer the original question.... as a moderate, liberal thinking republican who voted.... The democrats gave people no choice. It was the worst run campaign in the history of politics. It started with Biden's joke campaign, the rushed promotion of Kamala (who was in no way qualified) and not supported by her own party. The arrogance & moral superiority of the Dems drove people to Trump. You may not like his politics (thats OK, Its a free world) but gas prices, groceries, Jobs, Inflation, immigration & crime are things that matter to people. Trump was clear about how he wants to deal with it (who knows whether he will or not) but the outcome has been obvious since the summer (Despite the sugar rush bounce Kamala got when she announced she was running). I can assure you it has nothing to with s8x or race... the numbers and voting trends prove it.

If you don't like it, that's cool, you don't live here. Given last week's Budget you guys have enough to worry about over there.

Onwards & upwards
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You voted for a N@zi, so your explanations and excuses are f*cking worthless.

You’ll never comment on any of my articles again.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't say who I voted for. Personally, I'm not a fan of Trump.... I was just trying to explain why she lost. I live in a Blue state (always will be). People like me are not the reason why he won. You need to understand the infrastructure & dynamics of the US political system to see why the outcome was like this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
False promises of jam tomorrow and racist gaslighting is the reason Trump gets elected. His proposed tariffs won't make the average working Joe richer.

The other candidate isn't a racist, misogynist, sexoffender with a litany of lies that have become normalised to the point of being shrugged off. Sorry of you see this as 'moral superiority' (it is) or 'arrogance' (it isn't).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just trying to explain why she lost...
----------------------------------------------------------------------

She lost because the average American is as thick as mince. Harris and the Democrats may not have ran a perfect campaign, but come on Trump has so much baggage, he should have been wiped out by any half intelligent electorate.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thick and/or racist and quite obviously misogynistic as they’d rather have a rapist than a woman.

The saddest part of Trump being elected is the impact on the natural world. An absolute catastrophe. Reversing a multitude of conservation efforts, opening up national parks for access to natural resources, particularly in Alaska, the denial of climate change, emissions etc.

Anyone intending to produce future generations and opting for Trump isn't thinking this through.

Oh for sure it’ll be catastrophic for the climate, but let’s be honest, we’ve probably already past the point of no return.

Americans will accept fascism for slightly cheaper gas.
