That doesn’t change that it is cringeworthy as hell to actually think that this is the last USA election. Get a grip man.

..............

Welcome to the reality of Trump.

But you cannot seriously think that he’s going to completely remove the electoral process?

What prediction would it take for you to make and get wrong to reassess your judgment on such matters?

I dunno why you’d want to move back here, we’re not that better society wise compared to where you are. Declining economy, shambolic public services, inequality at an all time high.

None of those come close to the USA, Arab.

When I first came here twenty seven years ago nearly everything was better than living in the UK.

It has got worse over the last ten years.

You are aware he is a mad man, yes? He has been given the freedom to do what he wants without fear of prosecution, by the US Supreme Court.

Famous line from Gladiator

Senator talking about the new Caesar

'He knows what Rome is. Rome is the Mob. He will conjure magic for them and they will be distracted".

Americans summed up for you folks. Simple folk who like simple slogans that are easy to grasp. Anything too complex just goes over their heads.

Donald Trump gets it. He's not my cup of tea whatsoever but he understands what America is better than any democrat still in office / position.

Tell people you want to make America great again over and over and they will fall for it. Tell them a huge wall is being built and being paid for by Mexico and they still don't care.

America will remain divided for a long long time. There is no healing process to bring those two groups together I don't think.

I mean of all people you should have known with Brexit and especially Trump (I) happening the first time.

That was the big eye opener for me. After all the related news about Trumps grabbin' them by the pussae came out and still having any women vote for him was baffling.
Bottom line was they all rather have Trump, a known simple quantity, than a cunning/evil woman in the office like they succesfully portrayed Hilary. Especially a black woman as first president, they weren't going to let that happen on their watch...

Trump voters have been underestimated by polls in every election, so it being labelled as a tight race was always a bad sign for me.

And all that followed on Jan 6th. He has form for trying to do exactly that.

I was led to believe by certain pundits that Harris was going to win comfortably, how wrong they turned out to be.

I have morals. Simple as that. Just the fact he is a racist is enough for me let alone all his other faults.

In my area there were no Trump flags this election, None, Every other house had one for the last two elections.

I said to the Mrs that they were either not going to vote for Trump this time round or were too ashamed to admit they were. The latter clearly won out.

Ideally, I would like to have the house sold before Jan 20th. We already have a rental to move into so that we can get our feet on the ground and look for somewhere permanent.

Whilst I don't agree with the idea he'll remove the electoral process, I don't think amending it significantly is in any way out of the question.

Part of project25 is aligning federal roles to the position of President, in other words getting Trump ideologists into as many roles as possible. With that in play and a potential/probable majority in both houses of Congress - change is possible.

I can't see Trump doing his 4 years and saying, 'that's me done, someone else pick up now'. I think he'll want to stay in power.

Honestly, I think the greatest argument against significant change is his age. If he were 20 years younger I would bet on him not relinquishing power after his term.

VC lives on Sesame Street, he’s got fuzzy blue hair and loves cookies 🍪

I don't think the political landscape is great over here though and we are heading for a MAGA type movement soon I fear.

If Labour and Tories continue to make a mess of things it's inevitable that weasel Farage is going to gain more and more popularity or it not him it will be somebody else who is less obnoxious.

The world is fecked.

After Brexit, 14 years of the Tories and Tories winning even in 2019, I'm not surprised.
