Legend is a term that gets thrown about very loosely. Not sure you can have different tiers of legend also.

So even with the likes of Hughes, Bruce and Park, who were very good players for us, I'm not sure I would call any of them legends. Of the 3 of them, I would more likely go for Bruce and then Hughes.

I wouldn't have Bruno in there, not yet anyway. If he's here for another 3 - 5 years and Utd have also had some major achievements, then he could be considered, but it's going to be difficult for anyone from the last 5 years or so to reach such status

I think when he leaves he will be regarded up there, but legend status might be just pushing it a little.

He's very undervalued and not appreciated enough by our fans or other fans. Top top player

There are a many United 'fans' who think hes a complete waste of space Especially in our little gang on here. As for legend, no he's not a legend. There are no legends coming out of United amongst the players in the last few years. Yes, hes the best signing and player that we have had in this era, but he will never become a legend unless things turn dramatically for him with the supporters and United in general.

BTW Mark Hughes really is a United legend. Steve Bruce not so. And Park not at all really, more of a cult player for some fans.

Legend?! 😂 He’s not even close. He’s a whinging drama queen that goes hiding when the going gets really tough. He’s gone missing in so many games before then turning it back on for another purple patch. He’s a very talented footballer no doubt - but he doesn’t have the character or mentality to be classed as a legend

More importantly Robb did you use the culer system for your tiering choices?

Although that may be an infringement on the tight trousers law

Absolutely.

I’ll never forget being sat in the Stretty listening year after year to a father and son pair dish out dogs’ abuse to Carrick. They even did it to Scholesy on occasion, and no doubt they were doing it to Mata after I stopped going. (Everybody around them either hated them or just found them hilarious, but they remind me a lot of a few we have on here.) I would bet my house that both of them will now wax lyrical about Carrick’s abilities and his influence and importance at United.

We’ll have the same with Bruno. There will be spectacular revisionism on the part of many on here within five years of him leaving the club.

He has been our best player over the time he’s been at United, for large periods by a stretch. The numbers he’s posted are nothing short of phenomenal; and despite the unwarranted and inexplicable shiiiiit his performances receive, he’ll be recognised and remembered as one who dragged us through a difficult period and to at least two (and hopefully more) trophies.

Definitely up there with at least the likes of Hughes, Choccy, Rooney, Bruce, Pally, Carrick, etc. for me.

Ridiculous to call this guy a legend.

If legend status is Best, Charlton, Law, Scholes , Law, Giggs.

Please tell me how Bruno is part of the above list of players

I’d probably swap him for one of the Laws

No answer then as I thought.

Tier 2 of the legends so cult hero basically.

A guy who was a stand out in a field of schit.

Bruno scores a good goal and all of a sudden he's a legend? He probably will be playing in Turkey if he is sold now. He's not a legend, he's a naughty boy.

He's not a legend in my eyes but he's closer to one than anyone else in the club now Ruud has left. Evans has been a great servant over two stints but I wouldn't call him a legend either.

Who is and isn't a legend makes no difference to me though. I want to see good football and United winning a lot more games than we don't.

He’s made to look a lot better by the utter dross he’s been surrounded by at times and the carnival under Woodward and the glazers. Guy isn’t fit to lace Cantonas boots for example - that’s the definition of a legend

Even on a two tier system, Bruno is not in Tier Two.

Tier One: Best, Law, Scholes, Charlton, Cantona, Giggs. Maybe one or two more.

Tier Two: Keane- Ferdinand- Vidic- Evra- Irwin

Bruno probably not in tier 3 just thinking about it.

For me, a good player, not a great player.
Not a legend for me either. Too much of a whiney cant.

I feel like he always goes missing in tough games too although my memory is shot these days.
Happy to be proven wrong with stats of course

No way can he be classed as a legend.

Bruno played his best football for us when our squad was stronger than its been the last three years.

Not for me, but these things are entirely subjective really - there's no 'official' list of legends and people will have their own reasons for thinking otherwise. For a kid growing up now who doesn't really remember the Fergie era, I'd expect Bruno is very much a legend. Understandably so.

He was still surrounded by some bang average players. In 2020 from memory you had Martial, DeGea, Fred and McTominey ffs. No wonder he looked so good

posted 1 week, 5 days ago

Anthony Martial was playing some of his best football for us around that time. It’s a nonsense argument, Bruno would look even better now than he did by your logic, but he’s regressed as the standard of the squad has declined. He also stands out massively for a star studded Portugal squad, having been their best player for a few years now.

Bruno Fernandes helped save an ill passenger on an easyJet flight to Lisbon yesterday.

As Bruno was going to the toilet at the back of the plane, he noticed a man appeared to be passing out.

Fernandes shouted urgently for assistance: "Excuse me! We need help! Excuse me! We need help!"

There was a spare seat at the back which Bruno helped the gentleman to sit down on. He stayed at the back with members of the crew and made sure he was OK.
