If Ashworth was the reason ETH stayed then rightfully he has to go but surely this would have been discussed when we approached him

I am literally hoping for relegation at this point. It is the only way to fix this club.

Wasn't his gardening leave at Newcastle longer than his stint at Utd

Now now Ali fam… doesn’t need to get to those levels.
We all agree some players have had to go.
Would anyone been mad if they went nuclear from day one and got rid of Rashford, Shaw, Dalot?

Not knowing the ins and out of this situ, but it seems the decisions he’s been making have back fired spectacularly and has caused obvious friction.

But as been said, this is not a good look, cos INEOS had credit being new to the club, but it’s a really bad start. Sir Jim best get a handle on things quick smart.
Amorim said a Storm is coming, it feels we already in a perfect storm. 🌪️🔥

But we Man Utd 4 life, we gotta take the ride, and they’ll turn it round, and it will click together.

The man responsible for keeping Eth, buying Zirkzee, de ligt, among others, is probably ashworth, I'm assuming?

We needed a striker we bought a kid who is completely unproven (Rasmus).
We needed a striker again as we found out Rasmus is nowhere near good enough and blew a ton of cash on Zirkzee.

Lightning doesn't strike the same place twice, unless you're at Old Trafford.

Someone had to go for it. All guesswork though.

I knew a Brexit Tory snivelling piece of shiiiit like Ratcliffe will be the final nail in the coffin for this club.

I think relegation will be good for the club personally. Bit like what happened with Newcastle.

You can literally read the article and believe it to be about united, well I can at least.

Getting relegated would assist in the clear out process.

The club didn’t buy Zirkzee because it “found out Rasmus is nowhere near good enough”.

It bought him because with Martial gone we were left with only one striker in the squad.

And we're still left with 1 striker in the club, because Zirkzee isn't a striker.

Fair point. He’s one of those 9-and-a-half centre forwards, isn’t he?

I don’t think he’s looked as terrible as I expected in Amorim’s system. He had a pretty decent game midweek. But he needs to go up a level and be delivering those kind of performances with every start if he’s to have a future at the club.

Zirkzee only scored 2 goals in his first season at Bologna. He already has more than that for us and it's only December. He is doing far better than expected

Maybe we'll bring over the sporting director from Sporting.

🤔 I hear what yer saying. And the theory of ‘hitting rock bottom to rebuild’ is sometimes the smarter way to go.
But for UTD, Finishing low down the table is bad enough…

What’s dawned on me, that there’s a few on here who have never truly experienced THIS.
What’s the worst they’ve seen, finishing 6th a couple times.
But some here have seen this before under Sir Alex.
We’ll be alright.

Doesn’t look like the club are gonna look for an outright replacement, they’ll hire someone from inside to do the job

No doubt it’ll all come out in time, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Ashworth has told Berrada that we need to shift Rashford, Nacho, Miro, Antony, and one or two saleable others who don’t fit Amorim’s system perfectly (Mainoo?) to both generate cash to reinvest and clear the wage bill, and Ratcliffe has blown his top.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So he'll be getting sacked for being right?

Ashworth never had a clear blueprint for success, just chaos all around. At this point, we're nothing more than a decking circus!
