I've been in less crowded scrums than this minibus. Absolute joke. There's a fkin mattress in here, bagsof cement, bags of potatoes, people standing on people.

Don't know about you caaaaaants, but I've already:

- bought 2 tooth brushes
- bought 4 pairs of socks
- bought a ferry ticket
- tipped someone 30p who wasn't bothered
- tipped someone 45p who was over the moon

I think the 30p guy didn't know what was going on. He was selling socks for 30p per pair. I gave enough for 5 pairs and only took 4 and he chased after me with an extra pair.

If I hadn't have got myself and my bags a double seat on that bus I think I might actually have been crushed. As it was I had to throw a local off who tried to lean on me. The whole of zanzibar seems to move around with their worldly possessions on new years day.

The bus was already vastly overloaded, to the extent that the conductor told everyone in the aisle to duck down whenever we approached a police road check. Then when we stopped to drop someone off, 5 people charge on to the bus when the conductor was trying to tell them it was full. None of them were going to hospital. They were all laughing about it until they realised that they didn't actually fit in the bus.
