Players need improved contracts, money’s got to come from somewhere
posted 4 days, 18 hours ago
This is disgraceful really. Can’t afford (or more likely refusing to pay) £40,000 a year to a charity?
That’s less than they give some of their “players” every single day of the week, every week.
Shame on them.
posted 4 days, 18 hours ago
On the face of it that looks awful, considering Mount is on 250k per WEEK, and Anthony is on 200k.

Something tells me Jim won’t be around for the long term. He’s trying to cut waste and make the BUSINESS very lean which makes it more attractive when the time comes to sell. He’s purchased an asset which he plans to flip for a profit asap imo.

There's been way too many negative stories now with INEOS
- Womens team being decimated again after making positive strides and finally winning a trophy
- Staff redundancies
- Fergie role being taken away
- ETH fiasco
- Dan Ashworth fiasco
- Ticket Price fiasco
- Christmas party cancelled
- Bonuses more than halved for background staff
- Now the Charity being cut off
Yeah this isn't at all what we signed up for and what we wanted. He's every bit as bad as the Glazers sadly and I hoped he wouldn't be.
If these cuts don't lead to relative success in the next 12-18 months then what was the point? A lot of our players earn £40k in a day or every 2 days so it's just anothet PR disaster.
What's worse is this is all being done whilst he's still not bought out the Glazers so it's a double whammy.
The whole club is just one depressing story after another at the moment. No wonder morale is at an all time low.

Going with Qatar would have left this club in a healthier position financially but morally bankrupt. Jim is doing his best to cover the morally bankrupt side of things anyway which is shameful.

He doesn't own the club so he isn't going to just hand over hundreds of millions is he? He really needs to get on with buying the Glazers out fully because the fans are already starting to turn on him.
If he thinks this Glazer silent majority arrangement is going to wash with the fans forever then he's an absolute moron. Get on with buying the club or let somebody else do it who wants to.

Jim is using this opportunity to address every cost base as part of his efficiency drive. While that’s not necessarily a bad thing, the way he’s going about it makes him come across as a bit of a Scrooge. I recently looked into the number of directors Utd employ on the sporting side of the club, it’s ridiculously high. A best in class DoF would suffice, reporting to Berrada as CEO.
When Jim is comfortable maintaining a bloated sporting operation (all on Utd's payroll) but unwilling to approve a modest £40K annual donation, it highlights Jim’s penny pinching nature. Coupled with the decision to cut 250 staff at a cost of £8.6m, it paints a poor picture of him. The real question is whether this cost cutting drive will benefit the team and fans or merely give reasons for the Glazers to pocket all the savings? Time will tell, but it’s a bad look, especially given the club's ongoing struggles on the pitch and the billions wasted over the past decade under our incompetent American owners.

Raising tickets to 66 quid with no prior warning which only effects about 7% of all tickets is also just pure stupidity. The amount we stand to earn from that is peanuts. What's worse is the new TV deal is going up again massively which dwarfs this tiny amount.

Since when were football fans, especially those from colonising countries, qualified to judge others on morality? It's a laughable stance given our own colourful history on the world stage, SE85. Even more laughable how we are willing to support a war criminal in Israel while Palestine is razed to the ground defenceless. Where's your morality? You should take a moment to reflect and engage in deeper thought before making such lofty claims.
Our country, across every sector driving the economy, is heavily reliant on Middle Eastern investment. If they were to divest, the impact would cripple us.

This wouldn’t be happening under the Qatar ownership.

It probably wouldn't VC and tbh the main argument for me not wanting Qatar was the morally bankrupt element.
However Jim seems to be taking care of the morally bankrupt element anyway so it's getting harder and harder to justify them over Qatar now.
Wanted to believe he'd be different to the parasites. Already convinced he's not.

Those of us who wanted Qatar knew SJR was trash.
