Its pointelss talking about tha Qatar bid anyway. We aren't even sure if was real.
We got Jim.... and its going badly. Thats the discussion point of this thread. Harping on about hes better than Qatar or whatever, doesnt change or help fack all about the reality of our situation atm.
I would be worried by the fact that MUFC (who ever they are) are declaring publicly that they are embroiled ina a dire financial situation atm, despite being minority owned by the richest man in the UK who owns a multi-£billion chemical business and has just recently passed all his personal ownership and liabilities into that business.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s an entirely different angle if we’re suggesting the Qatari bid wasn’t a serious one.
Given that Jim was the alternative, he clearly ticked all the right boxes for the Glazers. His proposal favoured their self-interest far more than it benefited the club or its fans. This suggests that Jim conceded so much to win them over that he’s effectively Glazer 2.0, and with the sweeping cuts now taking place, it all starts to make sense.
There doesn’t appear to be a genuine financial crisis, instead, PSR is being used as a convenient excuse to streamline Utd. Meanwhile, the club still maintains a bloated presence at the Sporting executive level. The cynics might argue that while Utd’s turnover remains healthy, costs are eating into profits, and Jim is simply clearing the cost base to ensure the Glazers continue to benefit. It could even be part of a larger strategy for Jim to secure overall ownership in the future.
Jim himself has admitted that the decisions he’s making will be unpopular but necessary, and he’s acknowledged that he won’t get everything right. That transparency, while refreshing, does little to inspire confidence among fans who are increasingly sceptical of his true motives, his competence of running a club even!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
LOL Berrada has announced personally at the last 2 fans forums that United are in a dire financial situation. Its in the minutes

I get what you're saying.
If he is to make such high profile decisions, why does he not buy a majority holding share? He has the money.
That way, his decisions of cost cutting would not indirectly benefit the Glazers. Right now, to the uninitiated, he is the scapegoat if/when this goes wrong.

Well you have your regular repeated tirade nothing ever new or informative although I did appreciate something you posted the other day about our players not having the stomach to really scrap if we got for real in a relegation battle.
Some of us are are actually pretty smart guys and just take the whole feck up our club is a bit more lightly and enjoy a banter about it, we all cope our own ways Vengeance

He’s worth around £12bn, but you’d think he was struggling financially. He claims to be a Utd fan, yet the way he’s going about things makes it seem like he’s an agent for a rival, working to weaken us from within. Maybe that’s a bit harsh, considering the sporting operation is still in its infancy, but he and his team are getting the big decisions wrong and alienating the very people he needs on his side — the fans!
As a minority stakeholder managing a small part of the club, Jim is clearly being used by the Glazers as a shield to deflect criticism. In reality, the root of the problem is the Glazers themselves, their refusal to sell and let go to an outright buyer is what’s dragging the club down.

There's been way too many negative stories now with INEOS
- Womens team being decimated again after making positive strides and finally winning a trophy
- Staff redundancies
- Fergie role being taken away
- ETH fiasco
- Dan Ashworth fiasco
- Ticket Price fiasco
- Christmas party cancelled
- Bonuses more than halved for background staff
- Now the Charity being cut off
Yeah this isn't at all what we signed up for and what we wanted. He's every bit as bad as the Glazers sadly and I hoped he wouldn't be.
If these cuts don't lead to relative success in the next 12-18 months then what was the point? A lot of our players earn £40k in a day or every 2 days so it's just anothet PR disaster.
What's worse is this is all being done whilst he's still not bought out the Glazers so it's a double whammy.
The whole club is just one depressing story after another at the moment. No wonder morale is at an all time low.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This wouldn’t be happening under the Qatar ownership.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It probably wouldn't VC and tbh the main argument for me not wanting Qatar was the morally bankrupt element.
However Jim seems to be taking care of the morally bankrupt element anyway so it's getting harder and harder to justify them over Qatar now.
Wanted to believe he'd be different to the parasites. Already convinced he's not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Since when were football fans, especially those from colonising countries, qualified to judge others on morality? It's a laughable stance given our own colourful history on the world stage, SE85. Even more laughable how we are willing to support a war criminal in Israel while Palestine is razed to the ground defenceless. Where's your morality? You should take a moment to reflect and engage in deeper thought before making such lofty claims.
Our country, across every sector driving the economy, is heavily reliant on Middle Eastern investment. If they were to divest, the impact would cripple us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It isn’t a laughable stance for those who have consistently challenged human rights abuses whenever and wherever they have occurred, is it?
I mean, tens of thousands of people turned out in Manchester to protest even before the Iraq War started. Tens of thousands have been out protesting against Netanyahu’s genocide in Gaza in recent months.
There are an awful lot of Manchester United fans - in Manchester, across the country, and beyond - opposed to seeing their club used as a sports washing vehicle by a brutal regime, who at the same time have also protested and campaigned loudly and consistently against their own (and other) countries’ governments, militaries, companies and other institutions involved in human rights abuses.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The moral argument on human rights abuses is fair and Middle Eastern countries have a long way to go to meet the same standards of the West.
The reality is that Utd, like many other clubs, already operates within a global system that relies on Middle Eastern money. We’re not really in a position to separate the club from that system without completely isolating it. Middle Eastern investment is deeply woven into sports, media, and business worldwide, and Utd, like many others, benefits from these connections.
To truly disassociate, we’d have to step away from the entire system, something that’s not feasible or realistic in today’s world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rather bland word salad.

SE,
Don’t you work in finance? You understand how the global financial system operates, right? It involves EVERY country, including those you may despise for their actions, for reasons like those we’ve discussed. Money flows into every type of stock and sector around the world, from the retailers you shop with to the institutions you transact with. The club doesn’t operate in isolation, even if you think it does. That means you, and every fan involved with the club, are already engaging with money from the Middle East in your everyday lives.
So, the morality argument you’re making loses its weight when you consider that we’re all part of a global system that includes this kind of investment. If you’re truly committed to your stance, you’d have to remove yourself entirely from the system, including the internet, and then make the argument. Only then would it carry real meaning. Until then, it's difficult to ignore the contradictions inherent in rejecting one specific source of investment while still benefiting from the broader system.
Yes, make the moral argument if you want to see change in those regimes. But don’t use that argument to reject a source of finance simply because it’s from the Middle East, especially when you’re already part of the system. It’s a contradiction. You need to change your record.

Yes, make the moral argument if you want to see change in those regimes. But don’t use that argument to reject a source of finance simply because it’s from the Middle East, especially when you’re already part of the system. It’s a contradiction. You need to change your record.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
“ So, the morality argument you’re making loses its weight when you consider that we’re all part of a global system that includes this kind of investment. If you’re truly committed to your stance, you’d have to remove yourself entirely from the system, including the internet, and then make the argument.”

SE,
Don’t you work in finance?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you going to elaborate or on a mission to antagonise?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So anyone who wants to commit to a criticism of an amoral globalist incarnation of capitalism should refuse to engage financially with the system in any way whatsoever?
You’re telling me that you cannot find any of the several reasons why that argument is spectacularly stupid? I’m sure you can.

I get what you're saying.
If he is to make such high profile decisions, why does he not buy a majority holding share? He has the money.
That way, his decisions of cost cutting would not indirectly benefit the Glazers. Right now, to the uninitiated, he is the scapegoat if/when this goes wrong.

SE,
Don’t you work in finance?

Why?
It is a spectacular point. If you do not want to accept it, just admit you’re a hypocrite.
