So you wont get in trouble for calling someone black.

You won't get in trouble for calling someone a c/nt.

But put the two together and it is suddenly offensive?

If a physically impaired person called a healthy person a freak then it wouldn't be offensive, because the majority of people are healthy and able.
--------------------------------------------------------------
But what if the healthy person was a woman, who had a beard and 3 ears and was only 2ft tall?

To call someone a Black C*** in a one to one confrontation is extremely racist. Some people really have to get their heads around this notion.

Its unacceptable. Totally.

Its worse than someone slaging off black people to you as in story No.1. And pulling them up for it doesn't somehow absolve you from you outburst in Story 2.

I never said I wouldn't get in trouble.

I just asked you to honestly answer which you feel would be more offensive to Anton?

Redblack...

I was not looking for absolution,I gave a very honest account of two events in my life and asked for opinions.

I appreciate your opinion and everyone else´s on here. I still find the issue of racial abuse at times a little complicated and confusing, I have to be honest, even if I am wrong on this.

A 2ft tall bearded woman with 3 ears is what springs to your mind then.

Please follow these 2 simple steps

Put the pipe down, and walk away from it

Im not saying that you called him a Black c**** to be racist. I hope you didnt anyway.

Some people don't actually think it is racist comment, and therefore say it and wonder why people get upset. These people have to learn it is. When they learn it is they wont say it in future. Unless they really are racist.

You could just call him a C*** instead. To add the black prefix is using his skin colour as a term of abuse. It offends people.

My definition of racism is pretty simple: Jim Crow, apartheid, n@zi germany.

Biggish there is a bit of a difference between yourself and Terry (if proven guilty). He is payed £100K+ a week to conduct himself on the pitch and one way of conducting himself is not by blurting out racial obscenities. Rooney was given a 2 game ban for swearing in a camera, if Terry is found guilty for racially abusing Ferdinand then he should have at least a 6 game ban - AT LEAST.

That being said I don't think he is a racist, I don't think you are a racist either and I have said similar things albeit never to a black person's face (I'm a bit of a coward). But I'm not a racist at all, I hate racism but anybody here who denies ever even thinking a racist thought just one time is a liar.

I know this is a serious topic but what does...

...I was tackled brutally from behind by a black player. He really hit me hard, it was a very bad and dangerous foul and it hurt a lot. I was in a lot of pain and I was really angry and actually also a little scared. I was on the ground in pain...

sound like?

Replace "black" with 'Asian', or 'white', is it still "unacceptable"?

well, white is.

Asian isnt. That's a bit xenophobic. Like calling somebody an American. or European or Australasian C****. You can be any of these (and Asian) as a black, or white person.

Another thng to consider is the Kick racism out of football is a high profile campaign run by FA and PL - isn't there one game a season where each player wears an KRooF armband or something. How could Terry wear it next time round if found guilty.

Ronalvinho

The point I was making was that actually the word itself isn’t offensive. We can use the term black to describe black people and it isn’t offensive.
There are three black people in the room and seven white people.
That sentence is not offensive.
If however we were to say “there were three C**ts in the room” – that would be offensive.
If you said there were “three black c**ts in the room” that would be offensive… but it wouldn’t be because of the word black.

The point is the word itself is not offensive.

It is about context.

Bubbles – sorry but that isn’t right.
“Racism is a form of discrimination therefore it is used by the majority on the minority”
That’s just plain wrong.
The minority can discriminate against the majority! Think of gentleman’s clubs – they discriminated against women, the poor, and the young… they were discriminatory but against a huge majority!
Discrimination isn’t about numbers! Majority and minority!
Think of positive discrimination – whereby employers discriminate against the majority to promote minorities. That is discrimination is it not?
If a disabled person called a healthy person a freak then it could be offensive! (depending on the context).
If it was said in anger than surely anyone calling anyone a freak is offensive?
Your position is seriously flawed.
