El Capitan,

I'm just having to listen to Spu*s force their opinions on us, apart from that I'm good.

How's it going with you, though?

"Hmmmm all this article proves is that Arsenal are scared stiff of us"

How does this article prove it? It was written by a Cit eh fan. Why would it make us stiff scared? And do you think that the Cit eh fan is stiff scared of Spurs?

"I know Cesc was your favourite son but did you feel disappointed that he's come out and told RVP to leave Arsenal NOW"

That's not what he said at all. You should actually be ashamed of yourself for falling for refurbished trash by the Sun. Cesc said he hopes RVP stays with Arsenal for the rest of his career

Re the Bale situation, I personally don't see it happening. I always thought that he would end up at Real Madrid one day as they seem to focus on quick counter attacking football and their wing play and for me Bale has to be the potential to be one of, if not, the best winger in the world.

That being said, Abidal is getting on a bit and Bale would make an ideal replacement for him at left back. I know people say he can't defend, etc, but lets be honest, the amount of defending required at Barcelona is minimal and with Dani Alves providing upwards of 25 goals/assists a season playing on the right, Bale would certainly be able to rival that tally on the other flank.

If Barca want him they will get him, IMO. It is different to the Modric situation because Chelsea had tapped him all Summer and Levy wanted to make a stand against their local and hated rivals Chelsea. A £40M bid for Modric was rejected on deadline day, if say Madrid or Barca came in with a bid on the same day for £35M or even less I have no doubt it would have been accepted. Hell I'd say Levy would even have ended up letting him go to United. If Barca want Bale then I imagine Levy will milk them for every penny they can (upwards of £35M) and let him go with their blessing

Spurs would accept a bid of £35m because it's not Chelsea What a laughable notion.

Spurs sold 27 year old Berbatov for £31m and he had 2 years left on his contract and was a disruptove force...do you really think Spurs would accept less than £35m for Bale, on a 5 year deal 22 years old...dream on!

If Levy wants £45m for Modric he will want the same or more for Bale, regardless of who's buying.

I meant they would have accepted £35m for Modric had it not been Chelsea making the bid. I don't know what Spurs would demand for Bale, as I said it would be upwards of £35m, not exactly £35m. The difference between the Cesc saga and this potential saga is that if Bale makes himself available there will be plenty of clubs interested. I reckon City, United, Barca, Real and even one of Juve/Inter/Milan would show interest. So Spurs would definitely get whatever sum of money they want for him.

We have no reason/want/need to sell any player we dont want to

It would take an astonishing amount of money for Levy to sell

And we have Joe Lewis backing up Levy on everything when it comes to his decisions

How can Bale "make himself available"? If we don't want to sell, we don't want to sell - simple as. As opposed to Arsenal we're a club on the up, the on the up - the fans know this, so the players do too. Nice try though

Come on look at it logically. Modric was tapped all Summer by Chelsea and Levy made it clear on countless occasions he would not be sold. But when Modric started throwing the toys out and refusing to play then I am sure the thought of letting him go entered a lot of people's minds. I remember even Harry said something towards the end of the window about letting him go for a certain price (or under certain circumstances, don't really remember).

If you ended up cracking and selling to Chelsea it would have made you seem weak. You never did crack which really annoyed me, because we are meant to be the big club in North London and let Cesc go for peanuts. But if Barca or Real came in with an offer on deadline day, considering Modric's attitude and Levy's clear disdain towards Chelsea then I am sure he would have let Modric go, even at a knock down price. That way you get the money, get rid of an unhappy player and don't strengthen your rivals who you are trying to close the gap on.

Mate that's last week's made-up story. Have you just awoken from your park bench and had a closer look at the old newspaper you've been using as a duvet?
