Chief scout chasing Bale

That way you get the money, get rid of an unhappy player and don't strengthen your rivals who you are trying to close the gap on.

Pfft. Rivals? Chelsea are so far below us it hurts. Our only 2 rivals for the league are Man City and Liverpool.

"How can Bale "make himself available"? "

The same way Modric did. By saying he wants to move to the media. Or the same way Cesc did. By keeping quiet and just telling the club officials behind closed doors. There are plenty of ways to do it, if Barca come calling lets be honest Bale will find it very hard to turn them down. Any player in England would.

Looks like Wilshere is off to Real Madrid.

Uh oh...

To be fair Batmanu that's hardly making yourself available - that's making yourself a pain in the arris. As I said before (illegibly) Spurs are on the up - why on earth would he be unhappy? Fabregas would've stayed if you'd won something.. anything.. in the past 6 years

I never said he is unhappy. People say if Spurs don't make top 4 then Bale, VDV and Modric will be off. Tbh I can see Bale and VDV staying with you for a few more years even if you don't finish 4th. Modric will be gone next Summer regardless of where you finish IMO. Just saying that if Barca come calling then he probably isn't going to turn them down. I wouldn't expect the likes of Silva, Aguero, Nani, RVP, etc to turn Barca down, I don't think Bale is any different.

Did you not see my article last night? We're going to win the league.

And I'm saying it won't be his choice if Spurs turn them down

And I am saying that if Barca give Spurs the money that they want they won't stand in Bale's way. That is my opinion. I think if Chelsea wanted him then they would not sell but if Barca came in with a £40m offer (or whatever it is Levy values Bale at) then the offer will be accpeted.

That is if Barca are even interested. After all it is just unfounded rumours from the tabloids that 99 times out of 100 have no substance whatsoever.

>>I dont see how Modric will leave no matter what though?

One of the big 2 will come for him and he'll have to decide whether he wants to compete with Xavi or Xabi for a place.

Or a favourite to win the prem will bid and he'll go there.

It's not terribly complicated.

Batmanu :

Think Levy would decline, based solely on Bale being the (potential) future at this moment, aged 22. 2-3 yrs from now (Spurs doing great or mediocrity) , a sale would be more likely.

Spurs are indeed improving noticably. But that carries no guarentees now, does it?

If entire seasons were defined by the first few games, all leagues would look very different from how they eventually look at season end.

Without obscene amounts of money being spent, no team in the PL has 'made it' for more than a season at a time with the exception of Man U and Arsenal. If Spurs manage to achieve success for more than a single season, good luck to them, but that outcome is hardly a given, is it?

Barca on the other hand, live in a league with only one other team actually in it, so they can pretty much guarentee success of some sort every year.

And if it's the pretty stuff a player's interested in, that has an obvious attraction.

Exactly - the amounts of ifs and buts required to make this story even vaguely plausible is ridiculous. IF Barca had come in with the amount of money your lot had wanted for Fabregas I might be slightly worried

I don't think any club will come in for him for at least another 2 or 3 years personally. Like I said he is enjoying his football and is happy at Spurs and developing every year into a better player. I don't think he will leave just yet but like I said almost a year ago I think he will end up at Real Madrid one day. He just seems the type of player that would fit in there and Madrid like signing players with hype around them because their shirt sales pretty much cover their transfer fee within 12 months.

Hypothetically if we come say third or fourth and close to, if not ahead of Chelsea. Then can you see Modric leaving?

Barca dont need him, neither do Real. He wouldn't kick up the same fuss to go to Chelsea again seeing as they are not 'all that'. He wouldn't fit into Man City's style well enough and despite being perfect for Utd, I very much doubt that they will cough up the money thats being asked for him.

Unless it has been his life long ambition to play for PSG I can see every likelihood of him staying.

Edinspur he will move to Anzhi

I never implied we were going to win anything. My point about us being on the up is in direct contrast to Arsenal and the reasons Fabregas & Nasri had for wanting moves away and refusing new contracts. Players recognise when they are in a good team, and have the ability to influence the outcome of their season.

Bale has the opportunity to make himself a star in the PL and a legend at Spurs, most likely in the CL too if he stays.

But Jacky boy >> Barca MF.

If he don't go, how will we ever be able to prevent Bale from going to Barca !!??

I hope he doesnt move to Anzhi. If he does then he is just a waste of oxygen.
