The manager has already stated that he won't be signing another midfielder in the January transfer window. He'll stick with the midfield at least until the summer I would imagine unfortunately.

1 word Ronaldo. Oh at the time the midfield was decent, not great but decent. Now it is more then past it. I know it, you know it, everyone knows it.

I think by now we should be confident with our manager decisions, although if he brought in that little Silva chappy from the other mob I would be quite happy.

I'm surprised Man U have not gone for a midfield gem as looking from the outside that seems to be their only weakness. Defensively strong, attacking very good and midfield ok.

In recent matches I think Carricks looked the best in the middle for Man U, but I don't think thats a great sign as he often struggles in big matches and is very immobile. Good passer though. I really liked the look of Cleverley, he seemed to help a quick passing tempo so maybe Man U should look for a similar player to him, a quick thinker who's happy to pass and move and get forward wherever possible.

Reading the comments about Alex saying he won't buy anyone, maybe, maybe not? Don't think he often does at this time but you never know. Doubt he would publically say it anyway.

Also at the time our defence was rock solid, we very rarely conceded.

Can people really read Fergies mind...who really knows... he says one thing and does the opposite...nothing would surprise me, so I keep the hopes alive for a monster midfield transfer....

of those titles we had Scholes, Carrick, Hargreaves, Anderson, Giggs and Fletcher to from. Now United have less choice and some are not what they were, but with SAF United always find a way to compete. 2 years ago, he went for Rooney upfront with 3 in the middle, last season Carrick and Giggs formed a great partnership, this season......we'll wait and see!

We had a consistant defence then, not a different one every match.

Not the midfields fault.

Absolutely not. We needed one in the summer; we didn't get one. We need one in January; we won't get one. Still, who am I to argue with SAF?

For his last two seasons Scholes rarely played, and was mostly inefective or was sent off when he did.

And you are not seriously listing Hargreaves here to help out your case? You are are't you?

Captain P is still miffed SAF didn't sign that Sneijder chap, who seems to be having little impact on Serie A this season.

January signings dont change a team overnight. Anyone remember evra and vidic being pap until they settled in months later?

Look dude. I'm giving an opinion without the rose tinted biased Utd glasses on. And in MY OPINION our midfield is pants.
