I reckon that if that 40 million bid for Modric had come from Madrid or Barcelona, he would of accepted, along with some perks, like a player in exchange.

Like Xavi, for example.

Nani and Bale are different styles of play, why compare them?

Bale runs down the wing, Nani cuts in from the wing.

Bale runs like an olympic sprinter, Nani runs like a girl.

Nani in Man Utd is a superior
footballer to Bale
======================
And for mthierry's next gag...
--------

Err, yes, he actually is even though the Utd fans spoilt with success don't always give him the credit he deserves. Nani IS a superior and more consistent footballer than Bale.

Who was player of the year last season? Who's got more goals this season?

mthierry - how do you define
what a player is worth. The only
relevant way with Bale is what
we'd actually accept for him. And
as mentioned a few times
already, that would have to be
£60m plus. He's on a long
contract, he's v young, and we'd
never replace him. Simples!
-------

So the random, arbitrary figures concocted on a forum is the accepted price for Bale?
We had no replacement for Fabregas but weren't flogging him off for £70m.

Fabregas wanted to leave...

OK - how much do you think Bale's worth (here we go!)

How can you compare Fabregas he had his coat on and was jumping around at the exit door like a little kid that was dying for a wee.

You mean last season's sham that turned the award to a farce. Bale wouldn't have made my top 10 list and would have ranked 3rd from Spurs alone. Nani was vastly superior and more consistent than Bale last season. The award was no less of a joke than Gigg's FWA in 2009.

Mthierry, I'm assuming your another one of em Gooners obsessed with Spurs? I mean Nani far superior to Bale? Like me saying Rooney is far more superior to RVP! Makes no sense as both are quality strikers with different playing styles. I'd rather you say you don't rate Bale at all and leave it at that!

I still want to know how much Walcott would be worth?

You're not the profesional football who had a vote. I wonder who's opinion I will take on board, the people who play every week or a bitter g00n.

And ask any Man U fan, ask then to give you an honest answer, I would say at least 99.9% would take back Ronaldo over Nani anyday! Meaning Nani is not as big as you make him out to be

I can't write another article but Harry has said King could be back in a week!

"Steven Pienaar came on last night and did well, Jermain Defoe is so unlucky not to be in the team, Ledley [King] looks like he could be OK in another week and there’s William Gallas and Sandro. We really don’t need too much. To bring people in just for the sake of it would be a waste of time.

Doo doo's - strength in depth is looking better & better!

Don't get me wrong, I rate Bale highly regardless of stats Arsenal fans use to denigrate him in comparison to Walcott (yes, I think he's a joke) but Bale has a long way to go to fulfil his potential.

posted on 12/1/12

Going on what you have said, he could end up as one hell of a player.........that would demand a huge transfer fee then........No?

posted on 12/1/12

Totally agree mthierry - still a long way to fulfill his potential:
- more clinical finishing to come
- get back to putting free-kicks away on the regular (if VDV ever lets him take them!)
- defensive work coming along nicely (especially compared to Nani)

So I say again, why would we accept less than 60m for him??

mthierry - have you got the potential to answer Tommy?

To be fair, we'll probably need to spend over that if we are to win the league. Need another quality striker because Adebayor and Defoe are not enough and are not complete strikers. Can't make the same mistake we made last season.

That's a pi55 poor point. That's like saying any Real Madrid fan would have Zidane over Ozil. So that suddenly makes Ozil poor or overhyped.
