We're not saying he doesn't need to improve, he does, he's looked very shaky at times, I would like to see Lindegaard starting.
But to say he will never improve, or we need to sell him, is ridiculous. He's obviously got potential, the change in style of football from Spain to here has clearly been a hard lesson for him.
I doubt he got a £35m lump of hoof merchant standing on him in Spain.

thanks mate.
i know.
i just dont want to see him in and out of the team making mistakes here and there because it will only make the fans turn against him even more and of course destroying his confidence. he should be out until he improves so when he comes back to play we can all.be surprised by a great more mature and assured keeper instead of one who is guaranteed to make a mistake.
Confidence is one thing, the inability to command his box on set pieces is another, it's one part of his game he seems to have a real problem with, hopefully the coaching staff will help him address this but until they do it will continue to cost us goals and games.

All those things will come with time. The worst thing is for so called fans to turn on him.
I'm not turning on him just pointing out a major flaw in his otherwise decent make-up, any keeper who takes over from the likes of schmeichs or edwin will be unfairly judged and i really hope he makes the grade but at the minute teams will see this as a major weakness and will try to exploit it at every opportunity.

Language is a key component. I doubt he can converse, even in parrot fashion in English. Being able to feel part of group, joking with others etc, can fill anyone with confidence, help to built camaraderie.
Once he can organise his defence, shout orders, etc then we'll see confident performances. He is too much in his shell at the moment.
Replacing guys like VDS isn't an easy thing to do.

Yes it is, you buy and established world class goalkeeper at the Swan Song of his career (he was 35 when we got him). That's what we did when we bought VDS of Fulham. Fergie could quite easily do that again, but it would mean replacing him again within 5 years time. Fergie is looking at the bigger picture. Long term. De Gae will improve and get better, as will Smalling, Jones, Evans, Twins etc.
