Capello got a £1.5m payout so we can assume he was sacked and the timing, just after Arry's aquital must mean that they have every intention of fast-tracking him to the England job.
What he has to offer as a manger at international level is obviously open for debate but surely one of the drivers behind his imminent appointment is the fact he can handle the media and they seem to be firmly on his side anyway.

You have not been reading Littlejohn in the Daily Fail by any chance.

Littlejohn may well be a bit of a self centered prat, but he is far more often than not, spot on with what he says.

I have been saying the same thing about the FA and Media for years.
I am still convinced the BBC destroyed our bid for the WC.

OP it's a good article. The press don't really care one way or the other about England they are writing according to sales and always have been.
In this whole sorry mess it's the FA that have come off worst. They really are a bunch of old fools. They made a rod for their own backs by being so severe in their punishment of Suarez and the pressure to strip Terry of the captaincy must have been immence.
Capello shares the blame, Terry was a wretched choice and he then made the cardinal error of reinstating him. If he hadn't done so he would still be England manager.

Great teams wouldnt mind them having a pop at the England team if they got their stories correct. The Tindall one just needed a little follow up to find out who the mystery blonde was. Not rocket science.

The England job..... A Poisoned Chalice to whoever takes it on and with loads of baggage.
If i was Redknapp, i wouldn,t touch it with a bargepole and if i was Pearce i would stay out of the Press, refuse to rise Publicly to the allegations and instruct his Legal Team immediately.

I never ever usually agree with anything the media do..but surely what theyre doing here is showing how hypocritical the goonds at the FA are... so they hire temporary manager of English National team even though he has made racial comments in the past!? erm Suarez anyone?? The FA have hit a new low!!! i say well done to the media on this occassion only
I dont think its unreasonable of Spurs to expect the FA to back off Harry until the end of the season. Im sure they were fully expecting him to go to England after the Euros anyway. Harry business isn't finished at WHL until then.
So a caretaker is inevitable. Brooking should have been given it.
As those guys waiting in that cue at ANC for a quickie would say: "Timing is everything."
Saw the press conference.
Brooking just looked fed up. Like he was thinkin to himself "what a bunch of amateurs ive got here sitting next to me" Dont blame him. None of them have played the game AT ALL yet they're running and ruining our game.

They are in the business of selling newspapers and advertising space.Who and what they destroy in the process means nothing to the newspaper moguls.
If everyone stopped buying newspapers tomorrow because they objected on moral issues the sooner these moguls go out of business.

This is the answer, stop buying papers. You can't call them newspapers because news doesnt interest them anymore, gossip and scandal is what sells them now and that is why the dig up an old story like this.

Well with my Spurs hat on I doubt Redknapp would want anything to do with the England - Holland fixture IF he is staying with us until May 14... Even if its as a casual viewer from the Royal box there will (rightly or wrongly) be a perception of conflict of interest around who gets selected in Pearce's squad, if its stuffed to the gills with Spurs players oppo teams will cry foul, while if he omitts any Spurs players with a semblance of a chance of playing for England he could well blow morale at WHL..
This is basically why the part time option that seems to be getting a bit of attention over the past 24 hours will not work.
The alternative is for Redknapp to leave Spurs now, which all in fairness I think is unlikely - apart from our remaining chances in the league and FA Cup, Levy would well be within his rights to refuse permission for starters.
As for the Norway and Belgium games, either way (if he leaves Tottenham now or on May 13) he will be in charge.

The FA effed up the most and they, as usual, are above accountability
When you think about it
Capello's England team are an utter joke at the 2010 WC and he keeps his job
He questions the decision of the FA stripping the England captain of the armband and he walks
The FA have their priorities back to front and it seems to me they are so bloody arrogant they would sack an England manager for disagreeing with them rather that a pathetic showing in a WC
The FA. Total and utter jokes
England. A laughing stock yet again

Great article Macca, its clear that a lot of us think about this as well.
The media in this country is a joke. Considering Murdoch's influence, I can't say I'm surprised.
At least the media are consistent...unlike the FA!!!
She wasnt an ex just a mutual friend who also attended the wedding. Even though before this happened the press were getting at them for going bungi jumping. ooh they shouldnt be doing that they might get injured. The whole tennor of the reporting was that they were out to get the England team to sell newspapers. Is it any wonder that seige mentalities start. Also if you look at some of the reporting from day 1 it was a lot of ex players with axes to grind, notably Mr Barnes.
