Why MUST he have known what they were doing? My boss sits 12 feet away yet has no idea what I do all day
I really hope this really catches on and millions sign this petition.

Unless the petition is via http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/ then it is fairly pointless exercise.

No harm in signing it though, is there? HE Employed those people, HE has the ultimate responsibility, HE should be accountable!
How many more of his publications need to be shown for the rat infested pits they are, before people want him out?
The power he has across this country is shocking, he needs to be stopped.
Well why not create a real petition?
Great teams
Thats a good point but we cant have people owning businesses (making billions of money) as sensitive as media houses and not being responsible for whatever rubbish the media house comes up with. You own it so to some extent you are responsible for what it does.
I think Murdoch should be punished to set an example to all others so that they always keep a sharp eye on what their establishments. If he is not it will establish a bad precedent. You cant just open a media house and let some desperate wanna be's run it and bungle things up then claim you had no idea what was happening behind the scenes. it was Murdoch's job to know what was happening at his media houses. He chose to turn a blind eye. He should pay as an example to others who might have picked up some bright ideas from this whole episode.
Work is over-rated , wumming all day on ja606 all day is what makes my day.Dont be a bum , become a wum
The entire phone hacking scandal was not just confined to News International.
In 2006 the Information Commissioners Office undertook an investigation into the matter and found that it was widespread throughout Fleet Street and gossip magazines.
In fact the biggest culprits were the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday.
While I have no time for Murdoch I take it everyone here watches their team on Sky TV? Who owns it then?
Do you mean Sky Sports? or Sky News?
Ban all newspapers apart from the Times, Telegraph and Financial Times I say .

Don't give a toss who owns it; it's a decent paper - actually I don't mind the Independent either.. I'm sick of the Sun, Mirror, Mail, Express etc etc.
I think Murdoch knew all about it.
But signing petitions is useless, because he is the most powerful man in media. No way will Cameroon want him out. He kisses his backside daily.

Wouldn't be fair to just get rid of one individual and let the rest of gutter press to roam about.

Yes boss
It's not just the papers that he owns, or Sky that he owns 40% of, it's the power over the country that he holds because of it. Most countries have laws that prevent one man having such a wide power base over its media, the UK doesn't. Hence Murdoch has a hand in controlling your day to day lives
