Players are to blame for this seasons disjointed performances but so is AVB. Why he doesnt get any blame from the people on here is mystifying.

AVB gets stick every single day.

There is hardly a day that goes by where I don´t see a media article or an article here on ja606 blaming AVB for everything that is wrong at Chelsea.

AVB must take his share of the blame. But my point is that AVB´s share of the blame is considerably smaller than many people are trying to claim.

Starting to sound a bit like spoilt, arrogant arsenal or Liverpool fans . Quick fix, Knee jerk reactions are why we are in the place we are now. I dont know if AVB is the right man but no one on here does either. Are there any ex proffessional managers on here ? Its his 1st season, massive changes needed, 1st team squad, transfer policy, youth development,scouting system all need major work. AVB should be given 3 years & the full backing of the board & fans. Will take time & patience

To be fair, we would of ended up in 3rd place last season if there where a few more games, and this season the players that we relied on are older and not performing as consistently (Cech, Cole, Lampard, Malouda, Anelka, Drogba) and the ones get got to replace them, such as Torres, Meireles and co are not playing at the level of the ones that they are there to replace. Also, since we are changing the style we play, its hard to do with a whole team that want to play different ways. It also makes it harder to change style when changing manager all of the time as each manager has his different way of playing and may or may not like the way certain players in the squad play. So the best thing to do imo is give AVB time.

Agreed. Might aswell give him one more season. Too late to sack him. Lets see what he's made of in the second season

Pride - I blame myself too

AVB is destroying our club. He tends to be the kind of a man who attracts negative energy, hatred and disharmony.

This time last year our dressing room was filled with factions and ill discipline ...... while in Portugal, AVB could do nothing wrong. He could've selected the Dragao groundsman for matchday selection and still been revered by his supporters.

Which element has changed? And which has stayed the same?

I know Chelsea need to give managers time. But that should only be for the RIGHT manager. I don't think AVB is the RIGHT manager. I never called for Carlos head (honest), last season, because I always appreciate that 2010 title winning season. As a member, I have never been to so many games in one season and luckily enough to be at the game vs Wigan and promised after that, I would never call for Carlos head.

But the manager has to be right in my book. We can't just back any manager we hire for longevity

You couldn't have said it better . I wonder how long it will take for us to realize AVB is not up to the task. I wonder why any "Sane" Chelsea fan has seen that convince to believe he is going to take us there?Or maybe some people are privy to AVB deluded project.

I'm no expert, none of us are. But! I just feel if hes still not the right man next season and we sack him, thats just 2 seasons wasted while Spurs could potentially be building a dynasty with Jose.

I am just not convinced that hes the right guy. As I said, I know Chelsea need long term stability but it has to be the correct manager. Imagine if they hired me, as inexperienced as I am, I bet you lot would be defending me tooth and nail just for the sake of sacking another manager.
