Paisleys is easily The most deluded post of the year. It's incredible.

I agree, however there could have been one of 500+ commented by Got_Better included in this article which would have taken that honour.

It's actually scary just how much they over-rate Suarez
------------------------------------
They or one person?
What's scary is how childish people on your board are. So much so that they generalise a whole support, to one comment
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Every time i try and say to a Liverpool fans Suarez is not world class i get my head bit off.
I was told "i know nothing" for saying Cavani is more clinical infront of goal.

You're still doing it. As soon as you understand that there are millions of fans and each has their own opinion, then you'll stop beating yourself up over this.
I would say in fairness to most Liverpool fans that that Paisley bloke is especially deluded, you can see it in half the guys posts...
"What's scary is how childish people on your board are. So much so that they generalise a whole support, to one comment."
I know I've come to this late but please tell me this was ironic.
JJG Good spot.
The trouble is, the ones who are spotted are more vocal and are deemed a majority of a club's support. Happens to all clubs. Although I have to say I've spoken to Liverpool fans elsewhere and they held similar opinions to these. But by far the most annoying supporter I've come across personally is a friend who's an Arsenal fan. He's so blinkered and arrogant that I now refuse to talk football with him at all.

Not ironic but highlighting a point.
But it is ironic, because of course we don't all do that. I assume it was deliberate?
I don't wish to enter into a debate over what is deliberate and what irony. I was simply trying to explain that because one, or even a few people share an opinion, it does not mean that all Liverpool fans do.
"I don't wish to enter into a debate over what is deliberate and what irony. I was simply trying to explain that because one, or even a few people share an opinion, it does not mean that all Liverpool fans do."
But that only applies to the Liverpool fans right? I mean all us Arsenal fans think as one.
Just settle this long drawn out debate with a view on trophies
Who has won more in history?
Who has won more recently?
Who has won 18 top flight championships and 5 european cups?
Your comment did not state that 'some' people are like that on our board, after bemoaning the fact that others were generalising Liverpool fans' opinions based on a minority of comments, thus your comment was ironic. It seemed as though you were generalising posters on our board through what you were saying. Where's the debate?

I don't care. I made a mistake. That was not the point I was making, as I explained. My mistake only serves to highlight that point.

"My mistake only serves to highlight that point."
Or it serves to ruin the point you made.
I agree, it ruins your point as you're doing exactly what you were criticising others for. Never mind, it's been covered now.
I thought you had replied to a Chelsea fan and were addressing us, not the Arsenal fans. If you weren't, I apologise for that mistake, although the point still stands.

You disagree? You believe that a few fans' opinions on a particular comment portrays the opinion of the faithful, on the whole?

In that case, by your own logic, due to your mistake, your point is no longer valid.
"You disagree? You believe that a few fans' opinions on a particular comment portrays the opinion of the faithful, on the whole?"
Of course I don't believe that. But how can I believe you don't either, when you followed it up by doing exactly what you were preaching against?

He was talking to a Chelsea fan
And its easy to generalise about liverpool fans when everyone of them thinks the CC means they've had a better season than Arsenal

Regardless if you believe me or not, the point I make is true. I don't mind whether you choose to believe me. I was attempting to explain that the comments of a few people don't mean that everybody within the support agrees with it. I made a mistake, yes but that only serves to highlight the point I made. One shouldn't attribute comments to the majority when the minority makes them.
"One shouldn't attribute comments to the majority when the minority makes them."
No they shouldn't. But that's exactly what you did.
Of course it doesn't make my point invalid. Even if you hadn't been addressing a Chelsea fan but Arsenal supporters, the point about your post being ironic given your previous statement still stands no matter who you were addressing. You can't criticise people in one post then the exact same thing as them in the next. It's hypocritical, plain and simple.
