The point of Kante being further up the pitch is that we want to win the ball as high as possible and he’s probably the best ball winner on the planet so it makes sense to enable him to do that further up the pitch to win the ball in more dangerous areas.

AC Milan and Genoa will meet tomorrow to finalise the transfer of Krzysztof Piatek, according to Sky in Italy.

The fee will be in the region of £31m plus bonuses linked to qualification in the Champions League.

The completion of the Piatek deal will then allow Gonzalo Higuain to complete his move to Chelsea.

Looks like Milan are getting a good deal out of this, Piatek is supposed to be very good and for only 30 million, they've done well.

And understandably has had his fair share of poor games in a new position. He has essentially replaced Hamsun as the ‘goalscoring’ mid in the team - a player having an amazing or exceptional season in that position is getting 10-15 goals and around 10 assists minimum.

I do think in general he’s been improving over the last month or so.

Kova not playing the Hamsik role very well, Kova offers nothing in terms of goals and assists. At least RLC offered something before his back issue

That would be a great idea. Then we could bring another manager in and expect instant success or else sack them too and sustain ourselves like that forever

Kante is often the most advanced player in midfield making runs into the box while Kova is usually more defensive, he covers players runs and the LHS when Alonso starts goalhanging. The potential for there to be the 10-15 goal a season player is in Kante’s role with Kovacic. I do agree though that when Barkley or RLC play the balance switches somewhat.

Most of Kante's energy is currently being used getting in the box for crosses and trying to join in the attack.

He's far better helping stop opposition attacks but with this new role he's always caught up the field. This leaves Jorginho exposed and we all know he's hopeless defensively and hasn't got the pace to recover.

He makes a couple runs into the box a game man lol. Usually he’s buzzing around winning the ball high up. Him and Pedro are the only ones that do this. I actually think jorgino has been good defensively of late, just woeful on the ball

The 3 strongest teams in the PL right now are the ones who have given their managers time to build the side they want. If we’re going to sack Sarri after one season then we might as well pack it in because the cycle will continue forever and we’ll never catch up.
