I like Boehly - he doesn’t care what people think. You shouldn’t care either. F@ck Barcelona and the players who don’t want to come to Chelsea - but we just move on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is doesn't answer the question.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That doesn’t make sense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes it does.
The question is whether the club should be leaking out it is closing in on targets before they are near completion when there are viable alternative clubs after the same player?
I'd wager no.
It's embarassing.
Apparently we’re looking to try and include RLC in a deal for Fofana. Leicester are said to have had interest in him in the past
Until it appears on club website, I have zero interest.
String a long players.
Cucurella would be an amazing signing but I hope it doesn’t mean we’ll neglect other more important positions that need strengthening.

this works
Still not getting us a genuine striker though...is it
If both RLC and Gilmour go we're a bit short in midfield,
Levi Colwill could end up moving the other way in #Chelsea's deal to sign Marc Cucurella, more likely in a separate deal with Brighton than in direct part exchange – and with a buyback clause included.
[via @liam_twomey / @SJohnsonSport]
A full agreement has now been reached between #Chelsea and Marc Cucurella on personal terms. He's ready to accept the terms proposed once the clubs agree a fee.

I will honestly flip at this if Sarr is staying as well. You'd think after all the CB talent we've lost recently that we'd have better foresight than this - clearly I was wrong.

Yeah sorry mate but we're not getting a striker this window. Havertz and Broja will be our striker options this season with Sterling playing there as a possibility as well.
Best we can hope for is that we also buy Zaha but I'm losing faith that will happen. Maybe we're waiting until the Jan window when we can get him even cheaper or next summer when he's available on a free.

Yeah it's very clear Sarr isn't Chelsea standard and I'm baffled why he's still here tbh. Thought he would have been quietly moved on already without anyone really noticing his departure.
It looks like Sarr might be going to France. Surely we have to keep Colwill as backup in that case?
Yeah I believe Sarr is going to France, hopefully permanently.
Not sure about Colwill tbh, he'll probably leave if we sign another CB
Ruben Loftus-Cheek has no desire to leave #Chelsea.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really sure. We'd have 10 players who can play as CB (in a 3atb) if Cucarella comes in: Koulibaly, Silva, Cucarella, Chalobah, Azpilicueta, Emerson, Sarr, Ampadu, Colwill, James. Position-wise:
LCB: Cucarella(?), Koulibaly, Emerson, Colwill, Sarr
CB: Silva, Koulibaly, Ampadu, Colwill
RCB: Koulibaly, Chalobah, Ampadu, Azpi, James
If we lost Sarr and Colwill, our backup 3atb (if we wanted to rest the entire 1st XI):
LCB: Emerson
CB: Ampadu
RCB: Chalobah/Azpi
I could definitely imagine Tuchel seeing that as being serviceable even if Azpi leaves. And this is without another CB signing (which Tuchel seems to be pushing for).
I can't see us affording Fofana, Dumfries, Cucurella, and De Jong.
Even if we don't get gazumped that's too much money.
I mean, I assume that Azpi, Emerson and Sarr are on the way out, and keeping Sarr over Colwill would be an error. I don't see James playing a lot of RCB, unless a RWB is purchased. And if Tuchel doesn't trust Colwill, I doubt he'll trust Ampadu.
If we get Fofana (and Cucurella) our CB options are likely to be:
Silva
Koulibaly
Fofana
Chalobah
Cucurella
And in a back 3 system we need at least 6 options. I personally would be happy with Ampadu as the 6th choice, but, as I said above, If Tuchel doesn't trust Colwill I can't see him trusting Ampadu.
Also from what Tuchel himself has said, it's clear he wants a left-footed player to play in the LCB role. Only Cucurella and Colwill fit the bill.

I doubt we go for De Jong.
I also feel that reaching a deal with Leicester is very unlikely, considering the sums mentioned in reports about Fofana.
I would be disappointed if we moved James back to mainly play RCB, as he is such an effective attacker from WB. But it seems likeliest to me that we sign Cucurella and Dumfries from that list.
