Apparently he's keen on a move to Chelsea. As for Chilwell we have to see if he returns to the standard he showed before after that ACL injury. His injury record is a concern.

Cucurella can play LCB too but we need serious competition for Chilwell at LWB. And Alonso needs to be moved on. Emerson and Kenedy too for that matter.

Might as well go for Fofana as well, fk it. Need to spend big to get these targets.

Then get rid off Ziyech and Werner. Zaha will do, PL proven and can play anywhere across the front 3

Cucurella would probs get slightly more game time here than at City due to the 3atb formation

Yeah good point. He'd possibly end up playing most games, be it at LCB or at LWB when Chilwell is injured/unavailable/rested.

Be nice to be able to clear Alonso, Emerson and Sarr in one go by replacing them with Cucurella tbf.

I don’t imagine he’s being looked at as an alternative to Fofana. I suspect he’s being looked at as an alternative to Alonso, Kenedy, Emerson and Sarr. If he can additionally play left centre back that’s great, but I can’t imagine that’s why we’d want to buy him.
Hopefully we can get both Cucurella and Fofana. I imagine we’d set up like this:

James Cucurella/Chilwell
I can’t see Chilwell being back to his best for a while, and they would probably both get plenty of game time.

It’s meant to look like this:

Would probably go James—Fofana—Koulibaly—Cucurella—Chilwell quite often as well

I think it's reasonable when the club brashly and publicly go for players and leak updates to the media only for other clubs to gazump them, to be sceptical.

Boehly seems very green to me.

It's not about F Barca, it's about whether I am going to be piqued by players we are linked with.

I won't under Boehly until the deal is signed. He is no Marina clearly, for better and worse one hopes.

We were only really gazumped for Raphinha and De Ligt, and it’s fair enough IMO. We had Koundé in our hands and changed our mind for whatever reason.
