I guess if Boehly can get £20m for Alonso and Emerson, then it's not a huge outlay on top to replace them.

Does feel like we're committed to the back 3 though, if Cucurella is expected to play at LCB when Chilwell is fit.

Would've liked to see us use a back 4 much more often this year, especially against weaker opposition.
At least a 3 affords Colwill more opportunities, assuming we keep him.

Finished the season playing there for Brighton, and Law wrote that Tuchel sees him as able to play both LWB and LCB.

Also imo he's a much more defensive FB than Chilwell, so would make sense, if playing both, to use Chilwell as the LWB.

Personally think Chilwell is the better player, when fit, so spending £50m on a pure backup would be pointless.

Hopefully we’re not signing him primarily to play in the back 3, I know he’s played there but it would be a bit annoying to fill a major CB spot with someone who is primarily a fullback.

Great that he can play there of course and it’s good to have that option, but his main position should be LB/LWB in rotation/competition with Chilwell. Especially given Chilly will need a while to get back up to speed.

Cucurella, Fofana, keep Broja and Colwill and then shift deadwood and call it a day.

If we end up getting rid of two forwards further to that then of course bring one in

Chelsea are believed to be interested in Red Bull Salzburg starlet Roko Simic,according to reports. The 6'3 striker is one of many to come off the Salzburg conveyor belt of talent in recent years,and is being tracked by several clubs across Europe.

Simic spent the majority of the season on loan at FC Liefering,scoring 19 goals in 24 appearances.

Salzburg would be reluctant to sell,but may be tempted with the right price.
